I have been going back and re-rreading some of my Bolan books and have thoroughly enjoyed it. This book was an ok read. I enjoyed many of the action scenes, but found some of the dialogue to be lacking. The conversation between Hal and April at Stony Man Farm was so out of character for both of them. And the ending was a bit anti-climatic. Grimaldi just happens to be circling in the sky for hours in an F-14 until he gets the go ahead from Mack to take out the bad guy? How did Mack even know they would make it to the helicopter? The plot was weak. The dialogue was weak. Probably not one I'll come back to. -
Took me a while to get around to this one. First, let me say that it was a really good read. Lot's of action that was fast-paced. My only complaint is the author's use of three woman that were not needed to further the plot. The first would be the sheriff's wife, who was a deputy herself. Her "escape" from the hospital in her weakened condition seemed far-fetched and her final scene in which she showed up in an evening gown showing no signs of any of the trauma she has just been through was ridiculous. She blew Bolan's cover and then she made a revenge kill and we never saw her again. The second unnecessary woman was the girlfriend/cousin of the arm's dealer that the Vulture kidnapped. He lets this girl hang on his arm in the middle of an important meeting with some guys from the Middle East and dotes all over her and then kills her when they get to the hotel room. Stupid! The third unnecessary woman was Remmy's girlfriend in Switzerland. She has no military training and all of the sudden she has the nerves of Rambo when she goes up against an army with Bolan?! Really!! Other than that, I enjoyed the book. -
Not one of my favorites, but a good read especially toward the end. I liked the undercover twist at the end, but it wasn't long enough. Also, way to much political discussion between the PF warriors and other characters. -
I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand it had writing, intense action, bits of slow-place, detective like work, and parts of the book where Bolan blazes through bad guys. But on the other had, there were 2 things about the book that I didn't like. The plot had too many holes & the main bad guy, Mason Harlow, was just too unbelievable. He was the culprit of weak characterization. The plot bugged me as well. Why in the world would any guy with the money that Mason supposedly had go to a bar in NY & hire mercs he didn't know to be essentially the only people in his vast army that were responsible for killing the leaders of Chad, & thus, giving reason for the Libyans to invade Chad (for reasons the book never fully developed). And why was Bolan trying to arrest him & what happened to Picard & Alvarez? They were left in a fire fight & we never found out what happened to them. But in spite of that, it kept my attention & the strengths vastly outweighed the weaknesses. -
It's interesting when you read a book as a kid & then years later. I first read this book when I was 14 or 15; I'm now 37 & since those days I've read a ton. Ludlum, Clancy, Larry Bond, Cornwell & many others & I've got to tell you: this book is as well written as any of those. The plot was great. Sure, they're were some holes & problems with the story, but this is one fine Super-Bolan. It moves along fast even though Bolan isn't shooting up an army every page. You will not be disappointed. -
Probably no other book probes more deeply into the heart, mind & soul of Bolan as does this one. "The Trial" comes close, but in this book we see the human side of Bolan. He is not a superhero who is made of steel, but a human being, albeit a fictional one, with emotions. I know this sounds weird, but I like it when Bolan eats. In this book he takes the time to do that. Eating the two hamburgers actually made me hungry for them. I also loved the descriptive detail of the book. Some, I have read, did not, but I did. In some places it reminded me of a Louis L'Amour book. Some of the dialogue was over-the-top & borderline hokey. I also think the book ended to abruptly. All in all, it is a fantastic book that delves into the human nature of the man Bolan. Not The Executioner, not even Sgt. Mercy, not Bolan the Bast***, but the Man, Mack Bolan. -
I just couldn't get into this book. It was written in a way that I just couldn't follow what was going on. Maybe some day I'll pick it back up & finish it, but it just did not float my boat. I have read better books than this one, that's for sure. -
Some of this book was awesome. Some of it was downright dumb. I did enjoy the relationship angle between Bolan & the woman, but after a while it got old. I loved the villian though. I can't wait to read about him again. I also like how this book explored the mind of Bolan. How he wishes, at times, he could have had a family, house, etc... This was a good read; a definite keeper. -
Wow! I've been reading Bolan for close to 20 years now. I've enjoyed many them, tolerated others. In the hundreds of books I have read, there have only been a handful of books I just couldn't put down. Fire in the Sky, The Trial, Moscow Massacre, Devil’s Guard to name a few. Now I can add this title to that list. This book was incredible. I can’t wait to read the other two. The only complaint I had is, I thought the Senator fighting with them was a little cheesy. Other than that, it was nearly perfect. -
A good book that moves at a great pace. A lot of good action & I loved the knife fight on the boat. I also liked Bolan's ally, Rick. I would love to see him come back & work with Bolan. Read it, you'll love it! -
Basque terrorists (all dressed the same & using the same weapons), ninjas, and Muslim extremists? It just doesn’t make sense! The plot was terrible as was the dialogue. I’ve certainly read better than this. -
This is one book I always come back & reread. This first half of the book is a real pageturner. It kind of slows down in the middle, but then picks up toward the end. This is a good book & I highly recommend it. -
I felt that this was one of the best SuperBolan books I have ever read. It has a nice style to it & the pace of the book is good too. The action is great & the storyline is a nice departure from the usual. -
I always thought that this was a good read. Yes, it does seem farfetched, but what Bolan book doesn't? That's why it's called fiction. Read it, you won't be disappointed. -
Tightrope May 21, 2000This was a decent one. I enjoyed the action in it and the ending blew me away. Is it just me or does the guy on the cover of the book with the suit, tie ,& glasses look like Bolan? -
Terminal Velocity May 21, 2000In my opininon it is one of the best. He was a lone wolf once again and had to pull all of his wits together to get out of this one alive. The only problem I have is on the cover of the book: Didn't Bolan have a mustache in this one? -
Resurrection Day May 21, 2000Wow!!!! This book is a definte "Super-Bolan" I read this one every now & then beacause its so good. I really like Johnny, he & Mack work good together. I wish they would bring him back into the series. -
Dirty War May 21, 2000Awesome, Awesome, AWESOME!!! This book is great!! It took me at least 5 years to even find this book, but the wait was worth it. I loved the scenes with Bolan's family & the way he kicked the loan-sharks butt in the airport. Did I say AWESOME!!!!! -
Blowout May 21, 2000One of the worst SuperBolan books. And why do they have Bolan using a revolver on the front cover when he never used one in the book? That really bugs me! -
Rebels and Hostiles May 21, 2000I loved this book! It was a nice change of pace.. He didn't kill every bad-guy in this one. And because of that it was a little more realistic. -
Fire in the Sky May 21, 2000This is one of my favorites. It has action, mystery, conspiracy, & a great plot. I wonder what ever happened to Julie...? -
Devil's Guard May 20, 2000This is one of the best I have read in a long, long time. In fact I more or less quit reading the newer ones because it seemed like they were all the same. If this is any indication of how good some of the newer ones are I'll be reading them a lot more. This book has the most evil villian I have ever seen, & even Bolan himself commented twice that he has never faced such an evil & ruthless man as is the villian in this book. I recommend this book for all Bolan fans. Definitely in my top ten!! -
Crisis Point May 20, 2000Not bad. I enjoyed #100 better but thats just me. Personnaly I thought they were going to kill Bolan off in #200, but I'm glad they didn't. -

Eternal Triangle May 20, 2000This one is a keeper! Whether it was #100, 101, or 566, it is one of the best! Reading all these reviews makes me want to go read it again. In fact I think I will! -
Split Image May 20, 2000A definate classic. I wish all the books in the 100's could have been this good. I loved the end when Bolan said concerning the traiter, "And I wonder if I'll ever be in his shoes, if a day will come when knowing why I do it won't quite matter enough anymore. And if that day comes, what then." 'Bolan's question hung in softly lit office, right there for all of them to consider. Nobody had an answer.' -
Assault on Rome May 20, 2000A decent book, but one I would not read over again. -

Blood of the Lion May 20, 2000A definite read & a keeper. This book has it all!! -
Vietnam Fallout May 20, 2000I would have to agree with Glenn. It would have been better if it wasn't a Bolan book. For one thing the book revealed Mackenzie as a real good friend of Bolan's. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't ever remember this friend of Bolan's before. I know we don't know all of Mack's friends, but as many times as Bolan's been in New York & to never hear of this guy before is hard for me to imagine. Another thing is that we are told that Bolan had a love interest in Nam that was Vietnemese, how come we never heard that before? This book also made it look like this is the first time Mack has been back to Nam. Besides all that it is a good book. If you have never read it before, read it & just pretend it's not Bolan. -
Cold Judgment May 20, 2000Enjoyed this one very much. -
Blood Testament May 17, 2000I would have to agree with the opinion of others. It was not what I expected for #100, but it is a great book. -

Moscow Massacre May 17, 2000This is the best Executioner book I have read. This book has it all. Action, suspense, betrayal, revenge... The ending is explosive & I love the cover. This is as good as it gets!! -
The Trial May 17, 2000This book is not an action-packed book, but rather an insight into the mind of Bolan. A must read for all Bolan fans. -
Death Games May 17, 2000This book was not one of the best, but it was entertaining. I found it a little odd that a CIA agent & a Senator knew about Stony Man Farm. I thought the security was tighter than that. -
Orbiting Omega May 17, 2000The very first Bolan book I read. I think I was 12 or 13 at the time. Back then I thought it was a great book. But now, after reading so many I realize its not one of the best. But its not boring either. -

Caribbean Kill May 17, 2000Excellent book. It was nice to finally read about Grimaldi joining sides with Bolan. It took me 13 years of reading Bolan to finally get around to this one. Well worth the wait. -
Vegas Vendetta May 17, 2000I really liked this one. I've read better, but this was a good book. -
Death Squad May 17, 2000An awesome book. I was a little dissapointed at the death of most of them though. I did think it was a little odd that they were all home from Nam at the same time. I mean the war was still going on wasn't it? -
Super Able Team #1: Mean Streets May 16, 2000I thought this was a great book. It was defintly the best Able book that I have ever read. -
