Fire in the Sky

This was an okay read. I didn't quite enjoy it as much as other reviewers here. I liked the plot and especially Hal getting a much bigger role. Kind of odd he didn't use any Stony Man teams or resources with such a dangerous plot. I didn't care much for the leading lady. Why Bolan continued trusting her when several times she tried to ruin things or go behind his back. I know it all worked out in the end, but the whole "Should I/shouldn't I trust her?" thing got a bit old after a while. Enjoyed the scenes where Bolan worked undercover at the office. Interesting seeing him in kind of a daily routine kind of position. Very enjoyable read.

Just read this book and will say a very good read with lots of action and enjoyed the amount of time spent with Hal in the field. But. Two very confusing questions come to mind. First one is why is Mack using his real name? That was a shocker that his real name is known to everyone and no mention of him being a world wide fugitive. Second and more important, with the scope and depth of this plot and the danger and actions against Hal plus the info needed on the bad guys, why weren't the Stony Man teams called into play, at the very least the farm. I'm sure Carl, Katz and their boys wouldn't take too kindly to the assaults on Hal. And I'm doubly sure that the Bear and his team, especially Tokido could of cracked into the GOG file. The shuttle diaster took place in 1986, the book published in 1988 yet the Stony Man team were around way before that. Still enjoyed the book but would have been a solid 10 stars with the entire COG team involved.

This is a cracker do yourself a favour and read this you will be entertained. It is very hard here not to type excellent every second word and I will try to refrain so a wonderful plot and a brilliant storyline with SO MANY umm very very good characters introduced. Some of the stuff in this title which you will read is a bit special probably highlighted as has been mentioned by the saving of the dolphin but aside from that the storyline will get you in. Few twists and turns which you don't see coming and the way the storyline feeds into the Challenger space shuttle disaster well at least we know what actually happened now. This title is right up there with any from any of the combined series and is highly recommended for your reading.

A great book, not only in terms of story-telling and characterization, but also for a whiff of originality. I didn't get the timeline being off from when the Challenger actually went down, but I figure there was probably some kind of editorial decision to change things. This was one of those books I was able to read in one sitting without ever looking at the clock to wonder why time was crawling. Definately at ten.

A decent Super-Bolan yarn with an interesting storyline. Very timely and hits close to home with the space shuttle aspects of the story for its day - the 1980's.

This one was different. In a good way. Mike Mcquay is a talented storyteller. The group of misfits in this book make it entertaining and a break from the usual slaughterfest found in some of the run of the mill stories. A great read.

Very good yarn. Starts off with good action and develops a very good plot. Lots of leads take Bolan across the country. Meanwhile, Brognola faces problems of his own. Rock solid entry in the series. Favorite scene: Bolan saving a dolphin. Awesome.

This is one of my favorites. It has action, mystery, conspiracy, & a great plot. I wonder what ever happened to Julie...?

The action wasn't really all that intense. Especially during the undercover part. I really don't like it when Mack goes undercover, he doesn't experience action until his role is blown. At first I didn't know how the book tied into the shuttlde disaster but I got it after a while. A decent book!

This is the first Bolan book I read. I didn't understand Mack's background, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the book! Super characters, great action, lots of suspense. The real neat thing is that it was better than I expected. I thought it'd be full of graphic sex and violence, but it was on-par with the Ludlum and Clancy books I was also reading at the time! And, yes, I still have my copy.

This was a classic. The action was fast, and the story was tense. But, wasn't the shuttle disaster a different date than the one they gave. Big time mistake!
