Stranglehold May 26, 2000WOW!! One of the best Stony Mans I've read. It had a lot of things. The plot to takeover the world by force. My favorite scene was when Mack was chasing that RUF bandit. I liked how he chased him for miles on end and then had to come to a watery cave. The water cave was the best. I really got a sense that Mack was out of breath when the author described it. The bench pressing scene was awesome too. Like Alice said it had good character development. I knew Manning was a power lifter but never imagined 520. The only compalint is they should of had more character development on Ohara. LIke in Code of Bushido. Otherwise an excellent book! -
Stony Man VIII May 24, 2000I wouldn't necessarily say action packed. The villians were modest but the action scenes were sort of "low-tech" for a Stony man book. I don't recall any explosives being used and not much interesting or exciting moments. I could've of passed on this one. -
Fire in the Sky May 21, 2000The action wasn't really all that intense. Especially during the undercover part. I really don't like it when Mack goes undercover, he doesn't experience action until his role is blown. At first I didn't know how the book tied into the shuttlde disaster but I got it after a while. A decent book! -
Retribution May 21, 2000I'm not much a fan of Katz so I didn't really fully enjoy this book. They gave Katz the sense of being an old man and could only step aside while the Executioner kicked some butt. The story line was Ok but sort of got me confused when I first read it. They could of made the villian, Zhandanov, more sinister. This was a personal mission and not much else. -
Initiation May 21, 2000Just an OK book. The middle of the story really lagged. But the ending was spectacular, all of the plot was building up to the climax. Other than the end the book is nothing special. But i heard part 2 is going to be excellent. I've never been a big fan for triologies because reading 3 books to get one story is long. -
Body Armor May 20, 2000Moderate read. It was enjoyable but it didn't go too much on character -
Evil Reborn May 20, 2000The concept of a Hydra File was very interesting at the begging, but as the story wore it just became a jumbled mess. The writer didn't have a clear mind of thought of what he wanted to happen next. No foreshadowing to give me any kind of hint. And why was there just a big chunk of the story devoted to the drug dealer? That was where the book lost it's interest. -
Satans Sabbath May 17, 2000A really poor book. The character development really sucked! There were only 2 action scenes in the whole book and I don't recall the scene on the cover. I only finished it to get done with it.
