For two hundred years, Hawaii has been a melting pot of pleasure and sin. Now, the pot is boiling over. The Yakuza, lords of the Japanese underworld, and the ruthless Chinese Triads have declared war for total control of America's fiftieth state. Enter their worst nightmare: Mack Bolan. From bordellos to casinos, from the top dogs to the bottom of the heap, Bolan is wreaking his own brand of sudden death against the warring factions. If these cannibals want to get fatter by preying on the young and innocent, they'd better first check behind them. Because it's dinnertime and the Executioner is as hungry as hell.

Ok so there is nothing new to read here as Mike Newton has done the same plot before and would continue to do so for another million years. I agree with the other reviewers here about the sniper scene, the kidnapped girl, the two useless villains reacting in the same way they always do. However I did enjoy this for some reason. The story hasn't aged that much other than the characters looking for pay phones and Tommy Anders makes a welcome return although I don't remember him ever waving machine guns around. of course he is there to provide Bolan with a 'list' of targets and happens to know all of the passwords and codes and where everybody will be at a certain time. I did like the fact that Bolan leaves his marksman's medal lying around and the Triads discover who is after them. That saved a star in the review.

Let´s make this short and sweet. This book has been done time and time again and nothing fresh here so the book is just flat average, nothing more, nothing less....but, well....it lacks all and everyting. No character building, no real excitement, no mystery....nothing. This Bolan blitzing is so brain less and lacks all general interest and in the end I really didn´t care what happened to all the characters or how the book ends. If you want a flat and dull book to read and you have NOTHING interesting to do, then worst case you can read this book. If you like constant battle and blitzing then you can perhaps like it but if you want more....go read a different book. This one is not worth it!!! (Iceland - 2009)

Well a reasonably good read BUT come on this has been done so may times ? Bolan goes in and causes friction between rival factions and they attack each other. Bolan assists on both sides. A female is kidnapped. Bolan tries to get girl back through phone calls/blitz's etc. Both rival factions implode with the help of each other and Mack, the female is of course saved Mack comes out of it with a couple of minor wounds. Ho Hum I expect better from Mike Newton but if you haven't read many of the preceding titles it is very well worth a read. my two bobs worth.........

After my disappointment with the lame Message To Medellin, I was a little worried if Newton was going to bounce back to his great form again with Hawaiian Heat. This book is vintage Mike Newton, the hardcore blitzing Bolan kicking the teeth out of the bad guys in a well written action novel that never let up on the throttle. Although Bolan's game plan in this novel is nothing new, it ws nice to see the old-school Executioner on the warpath again. The Yakuza and the Chinese Triads are Bolan's targets in this adventure, with Mack attacking both groups, and attempting to get them to go at war with each other as well. The Chinese end of it seemed to take more focus as the story moved along, and the Yakuza was a secondary plotline. I found a couple parts in the book a little confusing here, because with all the different hits Bolan was doing to these two groups, I could have sworn that Newton got the two mixed up on a couple occasions. Tommy Anders is featured in the book, it was nice to see him again after a lengthy absence. I liked the way the allies were involved in the story, and the various sideline characters on both sides kept the story interesting. Newton did a good job on this book, a solid well written episode.

Bolan meets up with an old friend in the Aloha state. There he finds Chinese Triads and the Japanese Yakuza selling poison to the Hawaiians and decides to end their commerce in typical Bolan style. While this book breaks no new ground, it was still an enjoyable read. Finding an ally from Bolan's past was a pleasant surprise. Likewise, the attention to detail was well done. In "Hawaiian Heat" Bolan meets with the people who give him the targets for his Blitz. Too often, it seems he just has this list of gang hideouts, and it's not realistic. The only complaint is minor -- no new ground is broken here. It's all typical Bolan, but it is done very well.

A so-so entry by Newton. Not all that exciting.

A good book from Newton, although not his best. The final wipeout was very explosive.
