Wow, I'm not sure which book everyone else read but the one I have was a slow and laborious read. The Force had very litle impact until the end and although I understand it was a 'Rafael' book they should have had a little more involvement. The fight scenes, particularly at the end were great though and well written. I thought the final Raul/Rafael fight was awesome and in return for slugging through the start and middle, I guess I was at least a little rewarded with the end.

Great book, with plenty of excitement and action. The scenes were narrated brilliantly but if I hear one more time about the various guns' death dealers, I will fire myself. As a newcomer I little to compare to yet but I noticed straight away that this book had a quantifiable beginning, middle and end. The mission made sense and the result was believable and understandable. Unlike the last book I read which left me wanting I read this and was satisfied. The true reason for giving a 10 rating is the lack of surprise. The book IS predictable. GOOD, but predictable. I want a twist.

I did not think this book had as good a grip of things as the first I read, An Executioner novel. I was very impressed with the Cheyenne project and storyline but was a little disappointed when it came down to the final scenes on board ship. It seems as though the first firt 150 pages set an excellent story in motion only for the writer to run out of time at the end in closing the mission. The computer geeks almost seemed superfluous. They could have been the world's top banana vendors and been as relevant. Good start, poor finish.

This is my first executioner book and as you can see by my rating I shall be reading more. Infact I just ordered some. I thought the depiction of the island and the back story was excellent. The bad guys were a mix of professional and thugs alike which was extremely entertaining. I don't have enough other story knowledge to comment on the use of Calvin but I thought as a stand alone book at least you were not left wondering ever, who had what role. I fully expected a trashy series pumped out once a month quick read but instead got a powerful short novel with insight, intrigue and action. Great Job!
