SPOILER What a good book. Getting on the ship and stopping the the chemical from escaping and saving the hostages was a great start. From the jump out of the helicopter to the killing of the last pirate was exactly what I think Bolan is all about. This book kept a good story line throughout and finally saw justice at the end. Just enough back story so you could know why things happened but not so much that you get bored. There were a few dead ends but real investigation along with a little electronic help got to the right place at the right time. I liked that Bolan actually worked with someone who did not enjoy the prospect but still did the job because it needed to be done. I get tired of so many gung ho sidekicks with Bolan who are will to go and do whatever without a second thought.

Spoiler WOW! a total change from the past few Bolans. A non stop action book where Bolan went in and got the job done. No investigation no chasing around clues that lead to no where. Just kick ass and take names. Bolan took the help from the local police and even converted a bad cop and a criminal over to the right side. This book was well thought out and connected. The characters made sense and the story played out to the end. No big leaps to end the book, just follow through, determination and destruction. Who would have thought mini subs and the Lion, half dead and charging the m-60. Evil as the lion was Bolan let him have a few minutes of honor back. The inspector tossed his finger away to continue the fight. All of them beat up shot up cut up and conflicted still stepped up to fight. Even bad cops can do good when bolan offers them a chance. From cops on the take to loyal Puerto Rican police to gangs and riots kidnapping and through it all Bolan managed to kill the bad guys break up the infiltration expose bad cops and even got the girl for a change. This book was the perfect recovery after the last 6-7 books. I hope to see this author more often. JMHO Bob

Spoiler This was just another in a long line of awful books by this author. The scenes are just re written from other stories ( downstairs through the whorehouse and into the office of the redpole (triad leader) does anyone else remember that?)There is no congruity in the plot, Bolan just goes here and there and shoots people, putting uninvolved people in harms way was never the Bolan I read. This starts out with bolan jumping "halo" in. He then takes some drugs. "Go Pills" is the euphemism the author uses. "all the air force uses them". Drugs? because he cant stay awake or handle the strain? Has Nathan ever even read a Bolan book. Bolan gets in a long gun battle and fires "full auto" over and over again, he changes magazines 1 time after 100 rounds or so and then the mag was half full. From then on I started half reading and finally gave up and put it on the shelf. jmho

This was a good story but I think it lacked the action I expect to see. Only two or three gunfights and so much investigation, ( its not stony man after all) I do like the book and the idea that the writer could put a book together that dealt with political candidates but we did not have to wade through the ideals of each one or get history lessons on how each party came into being. Bolan brought his own help with him which I prefer over him finding someone who he can trust and work with (I like Bolan as a lone wolf operator as he was from the beginning) books with Bolan being on his own are few are far between lately. It was a well thought out story and didn’t leave anybody out in the cold at the end. Everything gets explained like it should be. All though, I would have like to see the ex-ambassador get eaten by a shark or some such but that still would not be bad enough after stealing Tsunami relief money. Overall it’s a better book than most I have read lately. JMHO

SPOILER SPOLIER SPOILER I got stuck with this book on a 3 hour plane flight. It was a rush trip so I just grabbed the next new book from the shipment. This turned out to be a bad idea. The story is good but the reading is slow and just seems to drag on. Usually I read on planes and I lose track of time and it makes the flight seem to pass by quickly. I think this book made the flight longer. The story is set in Hawaii and the driving and direction parts read like they came from a tourist brochure. I like descriptions of neighborhoods that Bolan goes into but the name history and direction of every street in the neighborhood is a little too much. Every time they stopped we get what seemed like a tour guide description (This was this in the 1800s then they got it and willed to these people and then the army took it and then left after building all this stuff.) This was for an empty safe house. (Amazing that an underground group of only 100 members had so many safe houses) I had flash backs of the bus tours my wife made me take. As we go along reading every other word is Haole and some form of Brother, bro, braugh, brudda, if you removed just those words the book would be half as long. As I was reading I kept hearing the Hawaii Five-O theme in my head and half expected to Read “Book em Dano”. I was waiting for the people shooting at Bolan to have revolvers with silencers on them. Bolan gets stuck with an informant and his female friend, they of course get attacked as soon as Bolan arrives and we race to a good fighting spot. The female is telling us every street name as we go along. And we move to finding some information from someone higher up in Peles fire. We find him and then Bolan shoots him in the knee while he is tied up. (Seems like torture to me) then he bangs his head against the wall so many times and so fast that Bolan can’t stop him? Then we get the “OMG I should have thought of this before moment” I know this surfer dude who is just what we need. Bolan sees this guy has some scars and that makes him okie dokie to trust. (The surfer dude also has a basement full of weapons, which is handy “for sure”) and he just takes everyone into his armory, without a second thought. (That’s a Knarly idea dude Ill go with you and kill people) and then it’s, were off and you two stay here and don’t go anywhere…. By the way here are my car keys. Well I will just check on my cats… and of course they get kidnapped... But in the end Bolan gets them back safe and sound. And as much as I did not like this book it was good story and the ending turned out great. Peles fire steals a Sub from Pearl and then tries to fire missiles plus How many times does Bolan get to Shoot down a Submarine with a Law? The ending was very well done JMHO

Excellent story. A Lot of thought went into creating the characters. Good running and gunning along with some brain work. It was nice to read a super bolan that did not get boring and then just end with the bad guy getting shot. This one kept my interest and was a good read. I still would like to see more action with Bolan And his Blitz.

SPOILER SPOILER This was a terrible book. Turning mack Bolan into a gun runner? Having him provide rocket launchers to rebels? Then on top of that he bribes a professor to have his students riot? The author tries to make it ok by having Bolan tell the rebels to only hit "military targets" c'mon. So now Bolan is going to jeopardize all the students so he can have a distraction for the police while he gets away with the Russian ( who god only knows how he found anyway)and everyone knows that the police in Myanmar will certainly try to reason with the students before the ummm... open fire, bleeh. Bolan Kills a cop / government agency man. The author again tries to justify it by saying that Bolan looked at his "government" ID first and decided to just kill him in the rest room. (cause that wont draw any attention)I think unconscious and tied up in the stall would have done the trick. Then he gives a wad of money to a male prostitute (again cause they wont say anything about this big white guy giving money away) Now on to the Hotel where Bolan walks into a hotel room (the special agents inside don't even ask for id of some kind) and who are these two anyway. Why would he (bolan) trust them? They talk like they know all and say things like Ill get this to your people. Plus they have a dead body? Then Bolan thinks he should help them with the body? "Ill go shopping for some tape for you cause I have the free time" and by the way "I recognize this guy from givng him a bribe when he was a customs officer" He is trying to kidnap this Russian codebreaker who can help with stopping some global threat. (again how did they know where he was) Next why would the people who had him bring him to such a busy venue. And this woman who Bolan only noticed as a "Competent red head" goes off to bribe someone only to meet the officer (who knows all about her?) and kidnaps her. HUH? All during this Caine is planning his assault. We get a nice x-rated description of an act ( not that I am prude)but why? We get it if you hire a hooker for a week, we know whats going to happen. (on a side point)What is with the bomb making 101? So now to the end. This guy can manage to park not 1 but 2 vehicles close to the presidential route. Then he thinks he can fool the bomb sniffing dogs and 2 cell phones will get past the jammer signal that the secret service puts out. Bolan is unconscious for the entire time and wakes up just in time to shoot him? If you are going to have Bolan save the president maybe a little flash would be OK. The entire story is disjointed. There seems to be no common agenda some things get a detailed explanation and some don't. I kept reading thinking it would get better. It didn't. Bob

This was a better Bolan than I have seen in a while. Its just about time that Mack gets back to blitz. He saves people he infiltrates and he does his thing. The executioner thing for a change. The last few bolans have been less than exciting. Thanks

This book had an excellent story involving secret covert operations. I knew it had to come, the story line where another "agency" fielded someone like the executioner. Its too bad that this author doesent seem to understand Mack Bolan. The Executioner I know would not ever torture someone. EVER. He may threaten to or prepare to but never actually inflict pain on a captive. Plus Mack Bolan would never fire on government agents no matter what, good or bad, he would find a way around, not jut gun them down. Just my humble opinion.
