This is a great book. Mack is recovering from a wounds at a surf camp that comes under attack by zombies. Of course Mack will get involved- and Cal joins him. I like this author because he knows the guys and it shows in this book. You see inside Mack's head and his concern for the innocent people being turned into drugged up zombies. I always like to see the softer side of Mack has he fighting truely evil people. There is also some great dialogue in this book. All in all a very well written book. -
This is a great book. Mack is called in to investigate a series of random murders that the President fears may be a new terrorist tactic. He is teamed up with a rookie Detroit detective and he has to decide whether the detective is a good or bad cop. It is interesting to read Mack going back and forth trying to decide whether to trust the cop or not. Almost immediately Mack and the cop are targeted by the enemy and it leads to some great action. This book had it all good villians-who unlike some books were just local criminals-not out to destroy/rule the world, great action and a good side kick for Mack. -
This is a great book. Mack is sent to rescue a group of teenage military cadets from several miltary prep schools after their plane is shot down. It is great reading about Mack doing his best to whip the cadets into a fighting group as they struggle against two groups of enemies. He is hard on the kids to keep them going but the author includes Mack's thoughts about being responsible for the kids. He is espicially worried about what will happen if the kids fall into enemy hands. This book includes alot of the action but also the insight into the executioner that makes a great book. Espicially the way Mack feels about the kids and his willingness to go all out for them. -
This is a well written story with plenty of action. It starts with Mack coming across a situation while driving through a small town. He knows something is going on and being who he is he has to investigate. He rescues a teenage girl and it is nice to see how he interacts with her while keeping them both alive. His conversations with Bear were great. And at the end it was nice how he got the towns people to help save their town. All around a well written story. No over the top mission to save the world just Mack doing what he does best- protecting the innocent. -
As a stand alone book this would have been pretty good- good action and some real good dialogue. However, there are large sections espicially towards the end that are taken almost word for word from the authors previous Stony Man title High Assault. In fact a lot of the plot was the same he just changed the locations. -
The story was timely and the threat posed realistic. The villians were interesting. Mack was great in this book and the story line with the ATF agent was fun. The action was well written. All around a great book.
