Interesting premise but doesn’t deliver in the end. The Executioner is on the trail of a cult who have organized the theft of the Ark of Covenant which was hidden in Africa. He ends up meeting a Vatican soldier and they team up to follow together the Ark all the way to Rome. Sadly, Bolan is always one step behind and nothing really ever happens. They keep missing the bad guys and keep on catching up over and over. The ending is also very underwhelming. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to reading this one. -
Best Bolan I've read so far. Excellent adventure filled with humour and action. Mack goes to jail undercover and must find what masterplan is brewing from the inside Supporting cast of characters is well fleshed out and very likable (and despicable). Martial art fights are fast paced and very exciting. The whole thing has a underlying feeling of doom even though Chuck Rodgers keeps the whole thing light and enjoyable. Satisfying conclusion. A plus work. -
A very enjoyable book overall. The storytelling is fast-paced and exciting and the style is gritty and gory. Lots of blood and torture in this one. The bad guys are good characters even though the names are a little ridiculous; Kilo and Tonne. Weaponry description sometimes drags one and it ends up feeling like gun-porn around the end but if you just skip a few paragraphs, you're in for a good ride. I enjoyed the Florida setting, the Haitian mafia plot and the old-school Mafia War triple-double cross plot. Good stuff.
