Highly action packed back from the start. Every Bolan book starts out good but I liked how this one started. It was good to see Ski back also. The fight at the airport between Ironman and Dark was simply wonderful. Rare to see Lyons not best an opponent. Well written with no gaps or lulls in action that may bore a reader. Loved seeing Grimaldi and the rest of Able Team. My only regret is at the end, it didn't say how Lyons recoevered. Guess we can't have everything. Great book.

This is David McCarter at his best. This book was well written to bring some of David's past to light without letting it overpower the book. Phoenix's illegal ops are always fun to read but this was packed full of action from the get go. A Great trilling read for new readers or old fans alike.

While it isn't one of my fave Phoenix books it does have its merits. The villian isn't one you can forget after you read the book and also features Karl Hahn which is certainly one of the better hi-points of the book.

The end of an era certainly as much as it almost the end of Stony Man. This was a wonderful book. It was the perfect closure to Bolan's government career. His war with the Mafia ended with a bang and his career with the government did also. It was very well written that readers felt the loss of people they had come to know and respect. We felt Bolan's anger at the betrayal the Farm had suffered. A terrific book and one to be recommended for years to come.

As the first in a large size Phoenix Force book I was honestly worried about the writing quality. Such a foolish worryyyy. This title was as good as the regular series. The action was superb, the writing great. The surprise death of of Phoenix part time fave Karl Hahn was a slight drawback since it was a shock but it was very well written. All and all, a super book for new readers to jump on.

While most 1st books in an action series may start off slow as they must introduce the characters and such this was not the case with War Against the Mafia. While it was originally printed way before I was even born I find that despite the age of the book it can still be read by a modern reader. The action is wonderful and it truely gives a picture as to why Mack does the things he does now.

Having loose ends finally tied up in a book different from the original is a new thing for me to see. Actually there was a lot in the book I haven't seen before and I was thrilled with it. After seeing Mack go into a battle on automatic mode I find Doug's portrayal of his human side, his memories of his personal pain a refreshing thing. It was also good to see Carl and Calvin even for a brief time and as always Grimaldi and Dragonslayer. The action was terrific and I was impressed all the way around by this book and certainly can't wait for Doug's next one!

One of my all time faveorite Phoenix Force books. As with all of Mr. Fieldhouses' books, he shows action, drama and emotion all together with well times humor so that the book isn't all run and shoot. It was a well written scene between the team and the Pope and you got to see a rare religious side to Rafael. A Great book.

This was a moving book. You knew from the start that someone was going to die but the action kept you from jumping ahead to see who. Keio's death was quite a blow as I really liked him but it was well done and he died in a fashion that would have made his ancestor's proud. Calvin's addition to this day was a good move.

The best of the early books. While the first 3 books were good this one really caught the action world on fire. The scene with Keio driving and David flying are still memorable to me.

One of my favorite Able Team books. Not only was it placed in a city I love but it showed that the Team could handle more than everyday shoot-em-up bad guys. The interaction between the guys was priceless and it was good to see them rely on outside help(in some cases, WAY outside). A good book.
