I loved this book. The setting was a little different than the norm and the action was non-stop page turning fun. I really liked the start with Bolan stalking and making the bad guys go nuts with paranoia. Seeing Jack on his own was really fun and showed that he's more then just an ace pilot,he can kick ass when he has to. Read this book if you haven't already. Its loads of fun. See ya on the flip side.

This was the first PF I read earlier this year to get myself back into these books after many years of being away from them and Mack Bolan. I chose this one to start back with because I remembered it as being really good. My memory wasn't too far from the mark. The whole idea of the Vatican being taken over by terrorists is a great idea. The one point in the book that I really didn't like was the bad guys. I found them to be a little thin, cheesy is a better word I guess. John Trent was a character I always liked and still do. I loved the planning by the hostages and the way they pulled it off. The scene with Calvin and Encizo being tortured gave a shot of realism. The good guys don't always get away before the hot pokers,hot coins and pliers in this case, get used on them. The ending with Trent being shot make one want to jump right into the next book. I've been reading a bunch of my old Bolan and PF books in the last six months,after too many years of being away from them. I hadn't yet bought a new book so found it strange when the little voice in my head was telling me to go to the book store a get the latest Bolan. Wow #300. When I started reading these books #100 had just come out. Also reading the back and finding out Katz was going to leave us was kind of a blow. Anyway I thought that the book was pretty good. Not the best ever written but still good. I found that Katz was not the Katz I've come to know again over the last few months, but I guess you can say maybe he wasn't totally in his right mind having just been tortured and all. I understand what the writer was doing but it just didn't seem like Katz. I think that the other members of PF should have been involved. It would have made for great drama at the end. Anway I've got to go now and start Retaliation and see how it all turns out.
