Thirst for Power May 27, 2000Some good "wounded" scenes, but I didn't enjoy this dam book too much. What's up with that cover art, anyway? Is that guy riding into a mirror? - Dave -
Reprisal May 26, 2000I thought this one started off great, but lost steam near the end. I really enjoyed reading how both teams reacted to suddenly finding themselves as the prey, and not the hunters. It was good to see one of "our" guy's getting injured, and them dealing with it realisticly. Kasner's work was still interesting, but I didn't enjoy this as much as Rebels & Hostiles. I did, however, fully enjoy the Jack Grimaldi bombing scene near the end. The visual images were very sharp. Looking forward to reading more of Kasner's work with the series. - Dave -
Moving Target May 21, 2000I really liked the high body count! Lots of bodies...with a high amount of them, too. -
Rebels and Hostiles May 21, 2000I loved this one! I'd say it's the Bolan book that I'd recommend to the casual or non-action reader to show why we enjoy the series so much. Kasner's work is sharp, and the story was crisp with excitment. To me, it was far more interesting to see poeple reacting to what was going on without a pile of bodies every other page. One of the best I've read in a long time. -
Renegade Force May 21, 2000The Daly guy was a neat spirit of vengeance. His find shootout whas way cool. -
Red Horse May 20, 2000This was one of my all time favorites. Will Murray has caught the icy Boston winters perfectly (I'm from the area) and the idea of a ghost-like vigilante is carried out extrememly well. Mack is in true form as one man trying to take down a greedy real estate magnate that is trying to burn down key sections of the city. Bolan has a scene where he and his partner has to escape captivity that has to be read to be believed. I felt this one was very hard to put down. One of the best- Dave -
Deep Attack May 20, 2000I plowed through this one on in record time. I'm not usually big on high seas adventures, but this was the exception. Mack has a few good rifs in with some local sailors and the escapes are downright thrilling. The ending reminded me of key scenes in Apocolypse Now (Heart of Darkness). Not a bad little read! -
Crimson Tide May 20, 2000A fun, fast paced read for me on this one. A solid bad guy (loved his chain) and some good dialog along the way. -
Blood Heat Zero May 17, 2000Doesn't it look like he's throwing a snowball?
