I actually rather enjoyed this book. There were parts that weren't great but, then again, none of them are amazing. Mack was definitely different but, to me, he was almost better. This book is what i was hoping for when i started reading the series. The dialogue was even better in here then in most books. I also liked the end. Cleared it up to have mack venture to seattle but instead mack goes to jersey. No one cares about jersey except kevin smith. Definitely better than jersey guns.

the opening chapter was good and the chapter between him and the ex lawyer, who's name escapes me, was masterfully written otherwise this book reeks of mediocrity. I'm not just an action guy but as far as action goes it could've used more, the "coincidence" of meeting foxy was a little too coincidental and I'm getting really tired of all these women falling in love with Mack. the enemies were completely forgettable and for that matter it focused far too much on them. better than some in the series but definitely not the best.

The prologue felt as though a half committed sixth grader had written it. The sex scenes were, indeed, far too gratuitous and mack Bolan's ideology made little to no sense. The book was pretty poorly written as a whole but despite it all the characters were memorable. half the time all that kept me going was the kick ass cover (mack shooting a rocket launcher at a mafia mansion while the police waited hastily on the overhanging cliff). Nonetheless this was the first Mack Bolan book I read and I didn't stop there so there must be something to it.

Don pendelton's writing drastically improved for this installment. None of it felt rushed and the plot was pretty original. it actually has a legitimate mystery and the action is pretty good. my complaints however are that the enemies weren't very memorable (especially Nick trigger) and that the dramatic finally was too bondlike but if bond is your bag then I'd suggest this book.
