Big Ed

I wanted to go back and read some of Chuck's earlier books because I have become a big fan of his writing and I was in no means disappointed with this one. Another awesome entry ro the series. I have to agree with a previous review that the way Mack dealt with the Iceman at the end of the novel was pretty damn cool. Chuck kicks ass.

I agree with Monsta Mack on this one. Lots of action, which I like, and a good read. But lets face it, Jim Peterson is no Don Pendleton. For someone who was using a character like Mack to base a book on, I expected a better effort to be put into the writing. The Bolan in this book was certainly not the Bolan we all know. Nice try though Jim, don't give up you're day job, whatever that is.

I was first introduced to the Cult of Kali in the movie "Gunga Din" so when I read the back cover of this book I was compelled to read it. I wasn't disappointed. In short, the characters, plot and conclussion were amazing and were typical Chuck Rogers. If I researched material as well as Chuck does I'd be a freaking Einstein. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.

Definately a strange book, but I found the plot believable to a point. The idea of using aliens as a cover for secret government operations was interesting. Not your typical Bolan book. The action scenes were good and Sgt. Mowry made a very capable partner for Bolan. Overall a solid 5 out of 10.

This was the first book that I have read by Alan and it was amazing. The depth in which he describes the sniper's thoughts and preparations before a kill kept me from putting this book down,I couldn't get enough. Great bad guys and Hawkins and Bolan made a great team. Keep up the good work Alan.

I have read all of Doug's later books and really enjoyed them so I wanted to read this one as well. I can see why you have kept him on, this book kicked ass. The way Bolan did away with the French woman was proof that no one escapes Mack's vengence. Keep up the good work Doug, you and Chuck Rogers are the main two reasons why I love this series.

Being a Canadian I found this book to not only be accurate in it's depictions of the Quebecois but also a damn good read. I also enjoyed seeing more of Leo Turrin in this book as I think he is a terrific character. The plot was fast and hard hitting and was one or the better ones in the Mafia wars.
