RULES OF SURVIVAL Mack Bolan is brought into a U.S.-sponsored mission to escort the world's most wanted terrorist four thousand miles to an international trial in the Netherlands. Infiltrating and extracting Al' alim Abd al Sami from his remote desert compound kick off a race with no guarantees of survival at the end of the line. Interceptor hit teams are in hot pursuit, one comprised of CIA-contracted mercs, the other deployed by the Mossad. Even al Sami's own cadre of terrorists are determined to take out their leader in case he sings, and anyone else in the way. As the mission gets bloodier by the hour, Bolan must race against time and the hunter to see justice done. For the Executioner the roles are reversed on this one, and that makes him lethal . . .

This is a Chase story. Very fun very action packed. The characters are fun and not overdone. The story flows very well to make a quick read that I could not put down

Very much a basic Mike Newton title released on the production line where little thought has been gone into it and a reliance on well I am one of the premier authors in this series and can basically release whatever I want and the publishers will continue to buy them. I guess I can see some logic here if the publishers are prepared to publish titles like this why bother putting and thought into his work? The standard balance of okay sort of action scenes combined with the inclusion of okay characters in yet another okay sort of title. The author either has a fetish in female bondage of some sort of dislike of females in general as here again we have what seems to be the obligatory inclusion of a female character who is captured by the bad guys to be used for whatever purposes. Why ???? Buggered if I know I have asked myself this question on so many occasions. So recommended ? No read it if you must he has written many other titles in this series where he has spent a modicum of time actually thinking about what he is writing about to publish.

I picked this one because it was like a very good Newton book, Blood Run. It started out fairly well with the capture of Sami, a bin Laden clone and deals with Bolan and a few allies' cross country trek to deliver him to The Hague. Along with Sami's men, there's also Israeli commandos and CIA-paid commandos who want him dead. The action is more abundant than in Blood Run, but not as crisp, I thought. The CIA guys were a bunch of goofballs. The only surprise was Sami's attempt to turn Bolan's Afghani ally against him. More than likely you'd think it would work, to make the book more interesting, but it never happened. Overall, just an average book. Decent for a "chase" book, but there are better ones out there.
