JUDGEMENT DAY Led by the man who would be fuhrer, Gerhard Steuben, a.k.a. Gary Stevens, the Temple of the Nordic Covenant has the weapons, connections and skinhead shock troops to fulfill their mad vision of a Reich reborn. Mack Bolan's opening strike in the U.S. against the Temple's patented terrorism ended with the enemy limping but far from lame. Now Bolan teams up with a Mossad agent in Germany, in a race to halt phase two of the new master plan: the slaughter of German Jews in a next-generation Kristallnacht. Using everything from ancient black magic to nukes, Steuben and his fanatics are moving toward the next event: an assassination that will rock Europe - and set the stage for a rebirth of the Nazi reign of terror.

Well the trilogy continues but unfortunately this entire title is just filler in the three books. The terrific female character tags along again here where the Big guy also connects to a Mossad operative who also will become a very good character throughout the title. But then it is back to the same old, same old a listing of targets and taking out of the wooden ducks. One thing of note is whilst all the same old stuff is going on with the Big Guy and his Mossad ally where is the terrific female character from title one who tagged along? Sitting in a hotel room actually? Why? The whole title? I must admit by page 300 and she hadn't featured I was thinking don't tell me she is going to be kidnapped again BUT thank goodness that doesn't happen but very strange why has she tagged along? Pretty ordinary middle title here I reckon but as usual if you are reading the trilogy you have no choice but to read it.

Nice pace in this book. I like the character of Gellar and also the way that Stuben would constantly freak out everytime that always reminded me of Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet. Can't wait to read the final book.

I can't say I thought this was one of the better Mike Newton books, maybe because I started the Tyranny files Trilogy with this entry , and not part one. There is a lot of action, especially in the end, but to me it seemed like the plot was purposely drawn out over a long time for no apparent reason. Mack needed more personality too, he was too stiff and devoid of emotion. I know that he is a serious guy, but let the guy show some more emotion. In the action scenes, he kind of "walked " thru them. No sense of danger or suspense. On the other hand, Newton seemed to go out of his way to show a lot a research into World War 2 and Nazism, good job on the detail. Newton usually writes great books, overall, but I didn't even bother to fully read part 3 , " A Dying evil", I just flipped thru it.

This bok wasn't as good as the first in the trilogy. I really liked the banter between Bolan and Crouder in the first book, and find it quite irritating that he leaves her stuck in the hotel room for the entire book. Granted, his reasons make sense, but why creat this character and then have nothing to do with her? Seems pointless. The scenes where we do get in her head show her acting more like a junior high kid than an agent of anything. I'll read the third bok to see how this gets wrapped up, but I'm not nearly as impressed as I was. Granted, however, there are some cool skinhead-stomping scenes with Bolan and Gellar. By the end of the bok, though, the body count even gets a bit tiresome. I found the "Four Horsemen" trilogy of about a year ago, also by Newton, much better.

I enjoyed this secondbook of the trilogy by Mike Newton. Bolan seems to have more character, which is good.

This book escelates the war waged against Grehard Stuben and the Temple of The Nordic Covenet. Bolan Teams up with a Mossad agent and wreaks havoc on Stubens foreign nazi sect. A must read by all means. But read the first book, Destinys Hour to fully understand the plot.
