RAPID DEPLOYMENT Terrorists from war-torn Kurdistan are poised to unleash an agenda of global violence that is nothing short of mass murder. Well trained and highly motivated, they have attacked top military bases and raided caches of Patriot missiles. The Stony Man teams are deployed to locate the weapons, and shake out the terrorists. But a threat of this magnitude will not be eliminated quietly, putting the agency on the fine line between removing the threat, and being exposed to the nation it serves in secrecy.

Not sure whether to give this one a 7 or 8. I shall go with an 8. Overall it was pretty good, a fast moving story involving everybody including Bolan. No nuke's of the week here, the terrorists have stolen Patriot missiles and the launch systems and everybody is taking the threat very seriously. If I had a complaint then it was that Stony Man kept locating the bad guys to easily and the bad guys went from being master planners in the opening of the book to bumbling idiots by the end. I did get lost occasionally on who was who but that is down to me. So, yeah, a pretty cool adventure.

Another terrific read here from this author where a very good plot is coupled equally with excellent ongoing storyline. The author raises the tension throughout as the Teams and Mack search desperately for the stolen Patriots and everything doesn't go to plan with some of the missiles successfully launched by the terrorists. Lots of good action scenes by Phoenix and Mack but sadly Able don't have much to do. Having said that I also enjoyed Pol's old man/hobo scenes and also what ends up happening to the other old guy who calls the cops. New President has just been elected in this title and a lot is made about how all newly elected Presidents react when they are informed of the existance of the Farm and Teams. This President full of uncertainties is mentioned quite a bit earlier in the title reflecting on wether he may in fact shut down the Farm but nothing from then on? (maybe it was edited out). Highly recommended reading loved it.

A good above average SM novel. The story was very exciting athough AT really didn't do a whole lot but it did provide a very funny moment at the end. I also enjoyed Pol's old homeless man reutine including taking a bite out of a thrown out pizza slice. PF had very good battle scenes. I liked how they really didn't fare all that well. They lost their plane to a patriot missile and a Turkish gov't building was hit. Actually even Mack's side of the story had some disasters like losing SM blacksuits and not stopping a missile launch in the US. The villians were flat and even the Turkish traitor was fun but not all that smart. I do wish more time was spent on the rich Kurdish money man. I couldn't quite figure out the book was published in 2001 so was written around 1999 but why have the main attack by the Kurds be the Turks? Yes I know they hate each other but at the time the hatred for Saddam should have been more. This book ignores the entire aftermath of the post Gulf War 1 retaliations by Saddam to the Kurds. Also I know how extreme terrorists are but even they could not be so stupid as to target a mosque? Kurd's I believe are muslim and this is the fastest way to lose sympathy. Again an exciting story with great PF and Mack scenes. Loved seeing them lose a few battles and some SM workers. Reminded the reader they are not invincible. Also I liked how Mack told no to an order by Hal. Mack does not work for Hal and it was nice it was stressed and a reminder of the readers of this fact. Also a tiny nit. Same time US President was eating lunch the Kurds in Turkey were eating supper. I am pretty sure there is a 8 hour time difference. Yes these were terrorists eating but it is rather late for dinner. Seemed to conveniant of a scene with both enemies eating a meal at the same time.

This was a well-written book for the most part but the story was disappointing in that it seemed overly familiar. Bolan was well visualized but the other characters came off as a little too one-dimensional. Worth a look but not a must read.

An extrordinary book with an excelent plot woven in. I found it a little less than convicing that the theft of the Patriots was seamingly so easy, even with inside help but this one is definatley worth your time.

Lots of action. I really enjoyed this book. I could feel the anger build up in Mack when the missle went off.
