WORLD ON FIRE Over Siberia, the Russians shoot down a one-of-a-kind classified U.S. aircraft from the shadow world of Area 51. Global unrest, spook games and three crisis points - a secret Syrian nuke facility, a Russian mob boss conspiring with corrupt CIA officials and a firefight in the Pacific - place Stony Man in the hot seat, slammed up against a ticking doomsday clock. Though the secrets contained in the downed craft may or may not be out of this world, the earthly touch is guaranteed from a grim force of determined warriors ...

I really enjoyed the story in this title. The UFO and the scroll parts are quite interesting reading here as what ends up happening to them in the end I thought was some very talented writing. This author has been known for some rather high body counts in other titles of his and does not disappoint here at all. Some of the action scene sections are absolute bloodbaths with bodies stacking up on top of each other. Some very good writing in these sections which will certainly keep you entertained. Lots of references to Area 51 where you folks up there supposedly recovered a UFO and crew from wherever and have successfully reverse engineered this craft and it's technology. Also liked the scroll how it was introduced and what happens to it near the end which is never actually stated by the author but suggested. If you like a plot which is certainly different and enjoy action scenes this is the one for you enjoy.

Liked the original plotline of UFO's, and secret government testing. I did almost give this one more star, but I thought it was rather slow for the first 100 pages. It was nice to see the Ironman of old show up in this one. Able's shootout in Flatbush was the high point of the book. Loved the Little Bulldozer carnage. All three Stony Man groups were used decently. Phoenix was used the least, which was fine by me.

I was very very pissed at this book lol for all the what you didn't know jack shit about this. So many things left unexplained. I've read this one more than 5 times. It is one of my favorites. Even if it did kinda border the X files it was fantastic. a definate 10

What does a UFO, a Russian gangster in New York, a Syrian nuclear base, and a Yakuza / Triad turf war in Hawaii have in common? On the face of it, nothing, but the moment we join Stony Man Farm in chapter one, they are already looking for connections, leaving the reader wondering why? Why do they think that there is a connection? This is never explained. The book started off well, with hints of an 'X-Files' type mystery (and even ends on it with a shadowy figure meeting Brognola and informing him that 'they' have been here a very long time. Unfortunately the rest of the book was the usual run around shooting anything and everything that moves kind of story that lead the reader exactly nowhere. There was a lot of needless padding that left me wondering if this was meant to be a Executioner book. What could have been a promising story leading on from COMCON just lead nowhere. I will be very suprised if the left over threads of the plot will ever be picked up on again.

This book was far from the best Stony Man that I have ever read (All of them). It seemed way too out there for my liking, I occasionaly watck the X-Files and this had way too little Stony Man action. I would have liked it better bossiblt id it werent so "back and forth"

An okay effort with an interesting X-files spin on things. It was difficult at times to keep track of all the different stories going on, but that's par for the course with Stony Man novels so it's hard to fault the writer. The action was better written than the characters and dialogue. The latter seemed pretty routine.
