INTERNAL CONFLICT America's most powerful industrialist has developed a ruthless scheme to play god with America's destiny. Stony Man has gone up against Grant Betancourt once -and won. Down but not out, Betancourt is using his close personal ties with the President to unleash the second wave of a conspiracy to create a new world order. This time, he's armed with enough nukes to rewrite the future, and bring down Stony Man in its wake.

This one is basically a rewrite of the first title where the main villan is still determined to take out the three religious sites mentioned in the first book but with nuclear warheads and mercenaries this time. A little more action in this one but not much and again I thought the title just wallowed along. Lots of better titles in this series than this one indeed many by this author himself. Disappointing stuff here I reckon.

This was sort of on the same lines as the first book. The action scenes were too short, and the threat that Betancourt posed didn't seem as intense as the first installment. The best scene that I liked, as with other Kasner books was a chopper assault, but it was over before it started. On the whole though, 5 nets it a "decent" book.

This book was an average enstallment in to the Stony Man Series. It had some deffinate action but lacked a thriller ending in my opinion. Worth a read.

In terms of action, this story was an improvement over the first book, however, I felt that the characterization once again fell short. The chief security guy for Betancourt in the last novel, Miller, is now Betancourt's right hand man and goes under the name of Sanders. The name has changed, as has his personality. Betancourt still wants to destroy they three main religious sites of the world, this time using nukes and mercenaries. Hawkins somehow manages to infiltrate one of the groups and promptly disappears. No one seems to concerned that he might be dead, so the rest of Phoenix are dispathced to Turkey to rescue Bolan & friend from a cave-in. Bolan & friend are rescued after spending three days in a pitch black cave with no food and very little water, yet niether he nor his Turkish "girl-friend" suffer any ill effects. Able Team are once again overseas, this time in Africa, along with the others to rescue Hawkins and recover the nukes. Betancourt is also there. After an excellent fire-fight at the airfield the ending is rushed and Betancourt is killed in a mine. I found this to be very disappointing. I personally would have liked to have seen more Oval Office storyline, with Brognola getting into hot water with the President. Overall, not too bad, but it could have been much better.

It was a good sequel to the first in the story
