Vultures Vengeance

This one was great. I could not put this down. Story is full of action and we see a lot of stoney man characters. I get that Bolan would normally never put innocents in harms way but he gets a pass in this situation by me.

This book was about average, at best. As was pointed out, there were several aspects of the book that seemed out of character. Bolan putting the woman in jeopardy at the beginning and Jack getting his feelings hurt because Bolan seemingly requested a different pilot. I also thought it was a real stretch trying to bring the SR-71 in, not to mention Jack getting in and flying it as if he'd been trained to do so. With all that being stated, there were some good aspects. I thought the villain was portrayed nicely, and I appreciated the "bait and switch", deceptive way in which Yareem was attempting to pull a fast one over on the US Government.

I did not care for this book at all. Bolan didn't seem very Bolan like in this title. The book opens with Bolan dragging an innocent woman into a gunfight because he needs to chase someone down in her car. She gets wounded. Bolan tells her "War is the feast of vultures and you're no meal for death. Take care." He then runs off as a crowd gathers yelling he is going to call for an ambulance but "he would make no such call." This is followed by a scene with Grimaldi flipping out and being reduced to tears because Bolan wants him to follow up a lead and not fly him somewhere. The second half of the novel is a little better. There's some good scenes. The climax is pretty disappointing. Bolan leaves behind a group of veterans who are fighting against their captors to get a girl to safety. He does, eventually, return to help them, but it seems pretty un-Bolan like to leave them in the lurch as they try to fight their captors. Overall: weak plot, weak action scenes. Second half is interesting, but hardly fantastic. The dialogue is pretty horrific ("Mack the Fact.") Would not recommend. Seems like a shoddy imitation of the Bolan we know.

The book starts out great and keeps on being great with the high intense middle part with the book high in the skies but the book starts to slide downhill till the way too rushed ending. The book had it all and It could have been a great one but lacked the killer instinct in the end. Sadly yes but that is life sometimes........ (Iceland - 2014)

Reviewer Doug pretty much nailed the review on this one the title is okay and interesting enough to finish but just lacks that killer punch to make it a must read. Some good action scenes present here but a little bit over the top I thought on occassion where when the Big Guy jumps out of a crashing fighter jet and is parachuting down with an Uzi takes out a Phantom Jet fighter strafing him was well right up there on the believable rankings I thought. But stuff it we are reading fiction so forget that the rest of the title is very readable there is much worse out there in this series than this one. Recommended umm no but up to you you CAN do worse.

I rated this probably a little higher cause I just finished "Renegade Agent" - uhhh - anyway , I enjoyed this one, the flight stuff was kind different for a change - where did Bolan pick up his helicopter skills by the way ? They seem to come and go, could be just me. The bad guys were kinda generic , I liked the Vietnam Vet characters, thought that was a nice touch. And it was a great descrition of the old SR-71 ... Eh Kay , says - pretty good little read.

This is a fun read, good action and rises to a exciting conclusion. The jet in this story is really cool. The writer didn't do any more stories, unfortunately.

The Executioner and his Stony Man associates take down a band of Central American terrorists. This book was not exactly bad and not exactly good. It was just OK. The action started off well with a shoot-out and a daredevil chase but then the story kicked in and the action became less interesting. Most of the action in this book actually involves Bolan and Grimaldi flying around. The flying bits are kind of neat but not what I would call gripping. The climactic penetration and battle at the end was unconvincing. This one does get points for having the Able Team guys on hand and even doing a couple things, for Leo making an appearance at the farm and for Grimaldi's work. Without the guest stars this would have been a 4 star book. As it is I'll give it 5.

A GOOD BOOK WITH DECENT ACTION SCENES.

Not too bad. Passable.
