A series of bizarre bloodbaths involving U.S. Army personnel in West Germany is undermining confidence in America's continued military presence. Details of the incidents are being fed to the press, fueling anti-U.S. sentiment and demands for the withdrawal of all NATO troops. Phoenix Force is dispatched to uncover who is behind the violence, and their hard probe discloses a terrorist network masterminded by a visionary with dreams of a reunited Germany free of foreign overlords. He is covertly backed by influential Germans fired up by the Nazi ideology, and his grand plan involves the sinister mind control of American military personnel - now human time bombs set to go into an uncontrollable tailspin!

I liked this book. like it when the boys take on the Nazi's Martin Kohler was a fine addition to the team and I liked his decision when he was ordered to turn on the team. hopefully we'll get to see more of him in future books. nice to see Manning have a little romance on the side. I don't think he had any sort of Romantic Involvement since # 8 Aswan Hellbox. pretty solid book for me all around. * stars

I really enjoyed this one! Partly, I really enjoy Nazis getting their asses kicked (to quote Indy 'Nazis, I hate these guys!') ! And for the main battle at the end, assaulting the Castle in the snowy mountains! There were some similarities to On Her Majesty's Secret Service, mind control, resort/base in the mountains . Just another rocking PF book!

Book 30 had the boys in Bonn, now 14 books later they return to Germany. This time they are involved with a plot to turn American service men and women into mind controlled killers. The main areas are Ramstein, Kaiserslauten, and Frankfort, with the PF residing on a U.S. Air Force base near Ramstein. They are led along many paths eventually determining someone of army-air force is aiding and abetting. Another interesting read with the PF. Semper Fi.

hmm not as good as the two previous I have read from this author but still quite good. The first half was kind of slow but picked up rapidly in the second half with the culmination in the attack on the castle. I must admit considering there are only two means of accessing the castle being by helicopter (which is out of the question) and by cable car with the enemy on alert I'm thinking oh yeah this is going to be good. So it is the final third of the title saves it and drags it out of the all so rans. McCarter's character is brilliantly written by Mike (surprise surprise) but he excelled in this title I thought. Alas Karl Hahn is no longer with us at this stage of the series RIP so Mike Linaker introduces us to Martin Kohler well I have no idea what is going to happen in the rest of the series but he seems a fine replacement to me which would tend to be alluded to in the epilogue. It's a fine read overall and recommended reading.

A good solid PF adventure, with the Force dealing with tracking down a guy to his castle base in Germany. Lots of the usual action, and a good battle scene at the castle.

Not one of the best from Linaker, it was still enjoyable with a lot of action.
