Just finished this book. it was pretty good. but It dragged some about how the drugs are made and it really did not seem to have a real enemy for them to fight. The fighting in this book was pretty good.

After this author's previous efforts I was really looking forward to this title but was left a little disappointed as the plot is pretty ordinary and there are quite long sections where nothing is happening either action scene wise or any plot development. Fred Byrnes a recurring CIA character makes a visit which is good as he is one of the characters you look forward to being reintroduced in a title and he delivers yet again with not only action scenes but some good plot development. Probably my major gripe with this title was the reason they went there in the first place is finally revealed in the last 20 to 30 pages where they have done six, then the next page they have done ten and then we find out they have done another five? Huh and they are surrounded by hostiles about to be overwhelmed and what happens? I just have a major reality check on what the President authorises I couldn't see it happening. Also as has been previously mentioned in a previous review quite a few times I stopped reading thinking to myself hang I have read that but wasn't sure if it was this title or previous titles by this author but I hate it when I stop like that. That aside there are some excellent action scenes contained in this title and I would suggest you could do a lot worse in this series than reading this one.

This one was almost a sure 7. It had some excellent action sequences, but the plot was just ordinary. And I found some of the characterizations to be lacking. I had to glance back a few times to realize that the whole Stony Man team was in on this one. But, at times, Pol or Lyons would hardly be mentioned, then all of a sudden, there they are, involved with the rest of the boys, and with hardly anything to say. That bugged me, I guess. I don't think I ever caught why the book was named Night of the Jaguar. There was no Jaguar character. So, overall, it was a good book for action, but some other things stopped this from being a great read.

I loved this book!!! I loved it so much because Able Team and Phoenix Force are in the same area and cooperate in many of the battles. I also liked it because of its overwhelming amount of action sequences.

I'd started to read State of Aggression by the same author but put it aside because it was so bad. I saw this at a friend's and thought I would see if this was any better. It was, but it was also pretty much the same book only moved from South America to Indonesia. There are a lot of the same action descriptions and same dialogue which makes you think the writer just copied this, so who knows if somewhere in these series there's not still another ripoff of this same story by the same writer. There oughta be a law. Maybe on its own I would give this a slightly higher mark but it's hard not to take into consideration the crummy 'remake'.

A lotta been-there-done-that in terms of storyline, but the author tweaked the story with some good action scenes and interesting interplay between the Stony Man forces. The book would have been better if it had been shorter, i.e. had less padding.

This is the first Stony Man book I ever read. It was interesting from the beginning to the end. I'm glad this was the first one I read.
