Arizona Ambush

I really liked this book. It was set up nicely and I really enjoyed the character development. The Vietnam connection was interesting. I loved the big scene at the airport with the auto-mag at the end. Very exciting. Definitely worth the read!

Wow. Great book, a lot of hard hitting action. Really enjoyed the ex soldier dynamic to the book. And also liked the way mack turned the different factions against each other. Solid 8 star effort.

I'm not really sure why the book received so many less than stellar reviews. I thought Pendleton gave another solid effort. This book was very enjoyable. Bolan goes to Arizona tracking down a drug connection, takes on the mafia, and ultimately runs into dual mafia families, a corrupt U.S. Senator, and some hired guns Mack previously knew in Vietnam. In true Bolan fashion, he pits the rival mob groups against each other and negates the big plans the US Senator (Weiss) and a Mob Boss (Borelli) are planning. Early in the book, Pendleton describes some of the thoughts and motivation of Bolan and provides us keen insight into the Executioner. I really enjoy when the writers gives us Bolan's thought process. As the story develops, we see the rival groups become more and more aggressive in confronting one another, all as a result of Bolan's plan. For one other fascinating item in Arizona Ambush, Pendleton brings some of Bolan's Army mates from his time in 'Nam. These fellas are hired guns for Morelli's group, and Mack comes face to face with many he served with. Cool stuff. All in all...a solid 8 stars. There was less direct action in Arizona Ambush, but the overall story was tremendous.

Very disappointing title here I reckon. A few good characters included added a couple of stars with the Senator along with some of the Big Guys previously known personalities from Vietnam worth reading. Some good action scenes help to keep the pace moving whilst reading the title. I also enjoyed the ending section with the bringing down of the plane but gee nothing much else to say on this one. Read it if you have to.

I like the figures from Bolan's Nam past coming back. This added a nice touch. And watching the disintegration of a US senator was very well written. The book was uneven though. The action was very good, Bolan at his best, but, aside from the Senator aspect, the rest was a little clumsy. Mack vs. Plane was a great scene. And I liked the exchanges with his 'Nam nemesis. A very good, typical (in a good way) Bolan. And the seeds of the big "finale" are laid in this book as well.

The Artwork was better than the book, I thought this one was kinda blah. Nothing really exciting happens in here.

The Executioner has come to Arizona following the heroin connection from Cleveland. What he finds is an explosive situation with drugs the least of his worries. Rival mob factions, some faces from his army days and a confused but loyal daddy's girl combine to make this mission difficult for Bolan. The plot has a lot going on with everyone's motivations in play throughout the book. Lots of action with Bolan hitting against 2 sides of a mob dispute to keep either from getting the upper hand while he tries to figure out what's at stake. The big guy encounters some faces from his Vietnam days but these faces are on the other side. Nicely done angle there. Not much of a glimpse into the workings the inner man of Mack Bolan but he is faced with some bitter choices and has to make some tough decisions. I got a full 8 stars of reading enjoyment out of this one. It's another action packed Don Pendleton special.

A decent entry with some neat ghosts from Bolan's military past in it.

PRETTY GOOD ONE. THE 3 VIETNAM MERCENARIES FIGHTING AGAINST BOLAN WERE A COOL ADDITION TO HIS ENEMIES' LIST.

A pretty good book. The three traitors from Vietnam was the biggest attraction.
