Well on checking the first page you will find a special thanks to Chuck Rogers for this title. Not sure if it was his input but I think this is the most "polished" title in the series to date (for want of another word). This is an excellent read from start to finish. From the way the prosecutor is introduced and the subsequent court trial to the final ending on what the natives do to the killer set free is just brilliant reading. Everything slots into place beautifully with no loose ends which unfortunately can't be said for the last few titles by this author. One of the types of titles when you finish you know you have read a very good book highly recommended reading in this series.

Able Team is back in South America on the trail of a violent member of a drug syndicate. They're helped by a prosecutor and an ally from a previous book. This book really worked for me. It isn't exactly packed with action. Able Team doesn't fire a shot until chapter 10. But the book isn't at all slow or boring. The story feels exciting and keeps moving throughout the book. What it boils down to is that this is a well written book. Good plotting and pacing, good characters with realistic motivations and reactions. The action takes over in the last half of the book and it's very well handled. I wish all the Gord Eagle books were written this well. 8 stars for this one. I feel like I could go to 9 stars except that it took Lyons 10 chapters to fire his Konzak. But if you aren't an action fanatic you'll give it that extra star.

Classic AT action. The book moves along real quick, a fast exciting read.

A good book. But not great. Loved the description of what the villagers did to the drug dealer in the end.
