Excellent action thriller here, set in Nevada, Bolan is after a madman that is planning to spread a very toxic poison in three cities to achieve his crazy bid for power. The villain has a notable sidekick, Starkey is a duel pistol wielding quickdraw that is one of the fastest and accurate shooters Bolan has ever faced. The potential danger of exposure to the toxic sludge added some tension and terror to the novel. Vehicle chases of all sorts abound, and the pacing of the story is full tilt to the last page. Garth is a tricky villain, always seeming to be a step ahead of Bolan, despite being crazy, is still a crafty and smart opponent. I was thinking this would make a good action movie. I enjoyed the read and definitely consider this book a worthy purchase.

Unlike other reviewers I could not get as excited by this title. It started out good and I liked the character of the old prospector but the rest of the cast were sadly lacking. The FBI lady was robotic and I was relieved when she was written out of the story. The villains were generic and I could not understand why so many would follow Trevor Garth when he was so cardboard. Being described as charismatic isn't the same things as actually being charismatic. Bolan was just clumsy the whole time, and due to general incompetence and not acting sooner, dozens of FBI guys die horrible deaths. Brognola also almost gets topped off but obviously manages to survive. I found this story to be merely average.

SUPERB, BRILLIANT this is definitely a must read in these series. I am not going to give anything away on this title as it is a must read do yourself a favour title. Simply put fantastic plot/storyline which will have you engrossed and some of the action scenes will stun you. So many and it just keeps rolling on one after the other. The characters introduced are perfect into the ongoing storyline. Hardly a moment to sit back and catch a breath when reading this one. LOVED IT ! Highly recommended

This one is great. The action is almost nonstop, the villains and their motivations are well-developed and even believable (after Oklahoma City the events of this novel seem downright plausible) and the suspense is nearly unbearable. Trevor Garth is one of Bolan's most cunning and resourceful adversaries; The Executioner comes within inches of taking him down several times yet the monster keeps squeezing his way out. By the time you're done reading you'll be reaching for an oxygen mask. Some interesting commentary is also made about the clash of ideals between the government and the militia, which was the topic of a lot of discussion in the '90s. This is only the second SuperBolan I've read, but it's got to be one of the best. If there are ones that can top it I'm definitely looking forward to reading them.

A great read, well-paced and action-packed. It was nice to read, too, in light of recent events, as it's a reminder that sometimes our own worst enemies come from within our own borders, i.e. whoever's behind the anthrax business... which had a lot of intriguing parallels with this story about mustard gas. Good work by the author on this one.

the book was full of action .it kept me on the edge of my seat. garth was an incredible villan. he made the book that much better.I also liked how bolan didn't just breeze thruogh this one he got caught a couple of times.

One of the best Bolans I've ever read. When you have the bad guy almost accomplish their plan, it's a great book. But when a guy like Trevor Garth does what he does to the Feds, you get a great book. The killing scenes are great, the suspence is increbible, and if you want to get your friends to start reading, this is a great book to give 'em. And I'm still waiting for the major motion picture.

Good action all the way through. The helicopter chases were the biggest plus, and the final chase was very suspenseful.

A kick-ass entry into the Bolan series. Wall to wall action with a great storyline. I liked Brognola having a more active part in this one. They attack scene on the Reno FBI office was first rate. Garth made for an interesting villain. Too bad the female FBI agent got killed so soon, I figured her and Bolan would hook up before the end of the book. What made this book all the more interesting was that I was on vacation in Nevada and California when I was reading it.

This book had action all the way through! From a scale of 1-10, I give it a 8.3

Great book! I was incredibly impressed with the nonstop action in this one. I finished this book in 2 days - it was a real page turner for me. I thought the bad guys were incredibly formidable - although I would have liked a more protracted final scene with the 2 main bad guys. I thought the helicopter scenes and sleuth-work were top notch, though I found it rather unbelievable that Garth would use such easily-decipherable names for his dummy corporations considering how intelligent and cunning he is with everything else. Though I still found this one to be of the highest caliber. The author also threw in a lot of little things that go wrong during the course of events (like forgetting the suitcase) that really added flavor to the story as well. Nice job!
