Stalk Line

Reasonably enjoyable book from Van Cook. We get two separate story lines, one with Elliot and Bakari (the agents Bolan is supposed to hook up with), and when they do meet, they plan on the destruction of 4 of Somalia's warlords. The execution of said plan using Bakari's old flame was interesting, but it started getting stale after a while. The action was good throughout, with well-drawn supporting characters in Elliot, Bakari and Aziza. Nice read overall.

I enjoyed this one very much. The entire story takes place in northeast Africa, mostly in the deserts of Somalia. I was glad that ficticious countries were not used in this book, like several other Bolan titles I have read. Bolan's mission is to take out four warlords that had taken over rule of Somalia. Bolan rounds up several allies as he moves to take down these warlords one by one in some great action scenes. Elliot and Barkari were a great and interesting team that the author focused on for many parts of the novel. This is the kind of thing that the standard size Executioner books are too small to include. The introduction and action of these two were excellent leading up to Bolan's meeting with them. Add Barkari's brother and eventually Aziza, the woman with ties to the warlords, and Bolan had a great team in his adventures throughout Somalia. General Ham and the other warlords were ruthless badguys, the plot was solid, the action scenes described very well, and the element of danger keeping the pages turning, this was another well written superBolan book from VanCook. Check it out.

Fair read here only I reckon. The plot is set in Somalia after the fall of the government there and how the country is being controlled by five different war lords which is reduced to four in the prologue and the big guy is off to remove them. There are some very good characters introduced here with two ex CIA guys who have just been tossed out of their fish canning business by one of the war lords and an ex girlfriend and a brother of one of the ex CIA guys, all very good and some interesting reading including them ensues. The problem with this title is that there are four war lords to take down and basically the same strategy is done every time where the ex girlfriend is used in the same way which results in some repetitive reading where I actually checked the inside cover to check out who wrote this at one stage to just make sure. As the previous reviewer said the ending is not too bad a little bit unexpected and the title is solid but I don't think this is anywhere near as good as some of the authors other titles. Up to you better reading in this series than this one I am afraid.

A very good book, i really liked the supporting characters in this book. But strangly the cover seems to have little to do with the book, that missle on the front cover has nothing to do with the books and on the back cover thier is a stealth helochopter, a tank, and Bolan with a RPG. But none of these things exist in the story. But even though the cover got me confused, this was a very good book with a cool ending.
