Blood Harvest

This book was a breath of fresh air after the doldrums of the Red Dragon trilogy. Odom tells a unique story involving an organ transplant ring in New Orleans. The villain in this book is selling body parts on the black market, using unwilling donors that are either killed or left as “zombies”. With a voodoo twist added to the mix, this is a rather macabre adventure for Bolan. There is plenty of plot and action going on here, despite the word count on these pages being very light. Perhaps editing may have taken chunks out of the story? I really liked this book, but one problem, maybe related to editing, is what ever happened to the doctor? He is the one depicted on the cover. As one of the villain’s main sidekicks, there seemed to be something missing at the final battle as to what happened to him. But I still enjoyed very much the original storytelling, the characters and action, I recommend this book for anyone that may have missed it.

This title gets a 9 mainly because it is one of the best story line/plots in the series involving one of the sickest trades imaginable. Fantastic and with a little bit of dabbling in voodoo, zombies,psychics etc. this title flies through and you have finished the book before you know it! UNTIL you look at the size of the font used and the margin/header/footer sizes and think this is maybe a pre reader for primary school children. I am so disappointed as it was one of the best reads in the series but I feel cheated it was only half a book in size. This is a highly recommended read.

Great new idea for a story! Bolan really gives it to the scumbags who think they can get away with pulling a "Coma " movie rip off.

This book is unique because usually we have the "typical" terrorist of the month but we can only once have a book about zombies, voodoo and organ harvesting as a theme and therefore the book should have been a bit better one but unfortunately it wasn´t as good as the plot and the place could really offer. With a better and more concentrated writing with some more inside into black magic, voodoo and the mystery behind New Orleans this book could have been one of the best so far. I love Mack Bolan books when he is in a maze of mystery with not clear view of who´s the enamy really is until late in the book and the plot of this book was good one with interesting twists and turns making Bolan´s job much more difficult than often before. I wonder how someone besides Mack Bolan would react to a situation of facing few zombies in a group like he did in the book????

With print big enough to read from across a room, this book was a disappointment. What was a good idea was too hastily written and could have been a lot better. That one of the villans, Dr Chen, was forgotten about by the end of the book didn't help. Did he die in the explosions, did he escape or was he captured by the Coast Guard, Mr Odom? One of Mel Odom's not so good entries to the series.

A real decent effort with plenty a macabre chills and intrigue in it.

MY ONLY QUESTION IS WHAT HAPPENED TO DR. WINSTON CHEN? HE SEEMED TO BE JUST AS BAD AS THE OTHER MASTERMINDS

I thought this was a great book. The plot was well done, and it had that weird horror in it. I thought it was great the way the zombies would come out of the ground and Mack would put them right back in.
