Rogue Agent

It was very well written and kept you guessing who was on Mack Bolan‘s side and who was after him or leading him on. It starts with a cold opening to set it off which is very James Bond. It was a good story with lots of action, and even some spy craft going on. The events were well paced making it hard to put down. Some great car chases, action on boats, action in buildings and action in Woods. The abrupt ending fit well for this kind of story. Bolan standing alone at the end.

The entire adventure takes place in France, so no major changes in settings for this story. Bolan's need to recover the dangerous chemical makes this a little different for him, because killing the main villain is secondary to retrieving the vials before its contents kill millions of people. Bolan's assault on the castle hideaway scatters the opposition, and we see a new ally at Bolan's side for the rest of the mission. Kuragin comes off as a strong woman at first, but becomes more of a victim later on. Many chases and firefights take place as the mission to track down Dorsikov, with Russian agents and Japanese gangs dogging their trail, make it a nonstop series of action, escapes, chases and rescues. I liked the action in the skeleton tunnels under Paris. The final scene in Paris was done very well, with one of those intense pulse-quickening endings to a very action oriented book.

Excellent book and the fourth in line for David Robbins in this series and I have raved about the other three and this as good if not better than the previous.

Going into this book I didn´t have high expectations but it turned out to be a fairly sold one and for most part entertaining. A lot of fireworks but not any real mystery besides the one surrounding the real motives of the female KGB agent who was a sneaky one but still childish for most part and she should have been made more cold blooded instead of sometimes plain stupid as to how she handled her emotions under stress and kept falling under grace during her mission. The action was sometimes unusual like the chair fight and the chase through the Paris underworld but yet sometime Bolan seemed to be a bit out of touch in the cat and mouse game. The climatic end at the Eiffel Tower was great one as the place was unusual for tense moment like that but one question was burning on my mind after the book which was how was Dorsalrov planning on escaping the lethal dosage of the nerve gas he was planning on releasing from the tower??? The end result………….a sold book and fairly entertaining one. (Iceland – 2006)

A very enjoyable story with some unusual action sequences (for example, fighting three thugs while seated) and a very strong female who was far from wimpy. Add in the very tense climax and you've got this book: another great entry in the series!!

This was the first Bolan book I had read in a few years. Right away, I was pulled back into the world of action and decisive judgement that Mack Bolan represents. Overall, a very good story. Showed me how my theory that Mack Bolan is the American answer to James Bond holds up.

I found this to be an entertaining entry. Right from the beginning, it had a neat little surprise. It also had a villain that wasn't a cardboard cut out. A lot of action, but the scenes could have been written better. Overall, not great, but pretty good.

I really enjoyed this one. The female Russian agent was a great addition to the story, and she was definitely no wimp. Overall, a very good read.
