Long promised retribution for the Gulf War is set to explode throughout Oklahoma when a terrorist group plots to ignite the state's oil wells. Once the fiery carnage begins, it would be unstoppable. Mack Bolan must go under cover to infiltrate the terrorist network. The Executioner's mission is twofold: neutralize the threat to the wells in the western part of the Oklahoma panhandle, then get intel on the other targets to counterstrike teams. But torching the U.S. heartland is only the first phase in the ultimate act of revenge by America's most relentless enemy.

Great job by Jerry VanCook on this installment. It had me hooked from the very beginning and kept me until the end. The fact that the story takes place in my home state of Oklahoma made it every more awesome. This is what I like from a Mack Bolan novel action, drama, action, suspense, action, thrills, and before I forget...ACTION!

Not many Bolan adventures take place in the Oklahoma panhandle, but here is one, and most of the first two thirds of Wellfire take place around this area. There are two main villains in the story, Asul, depicted on the cover, and a german named Gerhardt. The strength of this novel is the undercover work Bolan does to infiltrate Asul's network and figure out his plans. The writer does a good job of creating a tense, gripping read as Bolan's mission unfolds. I liked how Bolan was able to use his skills in role camouflage, and his race against time and his risk of discovery added suspense to the story. The action shifts to the Washington DC area in the second phase of his operation, which was an ok ending to the book, but the best part of the book was over by this time in my opinion. An excellent title yet again by VanCook, but I had to keep this book at an 8 rating because I wasn't satisfied with the ending where Bolan stood there and mowed down all the gun weilding opponents with one shot each while mysteriously avoiding getting hit while surrounded by gunmen.

Jerry VanCook at his brilliant best. The main plot is extremely good in itself but the secondary plot is superb. Great action sequences and once again is a real page turner. I loved this and it is highly recommended. my two bobs worth........
