Death Warrant

Once again VanCook has told an entertaining fast paced tale with Death Warrant. The main villain is nothing new, another drug ring leader, with the usual secondary sidekicks and peripheral characters. Bolan has some special forces members help him later in the story. What makes this book good is the way the author tells the tale. A lot of the writing shows the scenes and the different plot elements as they unfold, the dialogue between the characters, the drama and humor of the character's lives. The first portion of the story involves Bolan's activities in the Florida Keys, with an excellent rescue mission there. The drug leader takes more center stage later in the story, and Bolan's mission shifts to South America for the investigation and confrontation with Rocha. All of these scenes were well written, with plenty of action to move the book along. There were some funny moments in the novel, and this humor bumps my rating another star because of it, this is another solid book from this author, you will enjoy it.

Loved it terrific read. I also loved the professor and his absent mindness with the scene when Bolan figures out what he wanted to tell him about his wife but had slipped his mind a classic (It will put a smile on your face for sure). Pretty good plot good characters great action. Highly recommended my two bobs worth........

I really liked this novel. One of the funniest Executioner novels I have read. The scenes with the professor were a riot. There was a small detail he told Mack he had but just couldn't remember it. Of course it was the fact his kidnapped wife was wheelchair bound. Just a tiny detail. I hope he isn't like that mixing chemicals in class - BOOM!! Roche and Chambers two men and opponents Roche a wannabe drug lord and Chambers DEA both allowed their penises to do all their thinking. Josepha really used them. Chambers was a pretty funny character how totally naive he was well so wasn't Roche. If Josepha was ugly they would have seen through her in two seconds. The action scenes were pretty good. I liked the RAT fighters. When they were all in the room with Chambers, Mack and Josepha you could tell that they both wanted to laugh at Chambers idiocy and kill him for screwing them so idiotically. My one grip about the novel was why didn't Mack make sure Chambers was not packing and handcuffed better. Allowing him to kill Josepha could have cost lives to the good guys. Although the mission was pretty easy. One of the more harmless of the villians rather small time. Yes he had an alliance with the Japanese mafia but not sure if that would have lasted long. A 9. Read it.

This is a book with a lot of promises yet it didn´t quite deliver all the way through. Rocha was never displayed as this so called sadistic kingpin of drugs but just a small time hood and drug dealer with a big time vision.. The most interesting character was however Josefa the hooker with a "heart" was the one with all the plans dealing on both sides of the law for her own personal gain and pleasure. The RAT team had some interesting characters which should have been allowed to develop a bit more but I wonder if Bolan will work again with that team as it did fit his fighting profile.??? It was rather good reading and fast paced action but it could have been much better and it didn´t capture my mind like I had hoped for..........which was a real shame!!!!! (2003)

This was a good read. Like another reviewer mentioned, a quick one. Lots of good action sequences, with good visualization. Jerry is a pretty good Executioner writer,and I usually look forward to his books. The ending did seem unexpected, as well as (once again mentioned by the last reviewer) the death of a few of the main characters, but thats what made this original! 6 stars, entertaining, exciting and original plot twists.

A decent entry for a standard Bolan against a drug cartel storyline. I really liked the DEA RAT team assigned to Bolan, too bad they haven't been used again. The Florida Keys scene where Bolan stole the airplane and then landed it on the highway was cool. The prostitute girlfriend of Rocha was a mildly interesting character. A short, quick, and to the point ending.

Good and fast read. Quick ending but a good one. A couple characters die real unexpectedly but that boes make for a good Bolan book.
