Behind enemy lines. Mack Bolan is on a covert mission in Afghanistan when the body of an American soldier goes missing. Bolan is determined to get the fallen soldier back on American soil but the Taliban forces have their own plans- and an honorable burial is not one of them. With more U.S. soldiers killed along the trail and the Taliban planning to execute a group of innocent women and children, Bolan knows every second counts. The Executioner only has one chance to stop the ruthless plan and nothing is going to stand in his way.

This one not one of my favorites, but it is (somewhat) typical of some of current day writers...average story lacking a strong story line. The premise of the story, unrelated or not, shows a very inept American military that requires Bolan to save the day. Fortunately, there were some decent support characters that kept me drawn to the story throughout the closing pages.

Well gotta say right from the start I hate war stories and on starting this title thought to myself I am going to hate this and it is going to take me so long to read it. Happy to say it didn't take me as long as I thought to finish this one and I actually didn't hate it just disliked it. Farfetched come on the Big Guy is over in Afghanistan slipping it to the Taliban and Jack is recruited to come on over and lend a hand. The only thing that pulled this one out of the morass for me was the computer guy who managed to send the video file out which assisted the coalition forces somewhat with the Russian behind the scenes stuff for the NATO forces to pull out. Left me cold I'm afraid certainly not one I could recommend for your reading in this series.
