Well I am with Eh Kay here this author is probably in the top four or five writers contributing to these series and has written some of the blockbusters but not here. I liked the plot and loved the ending which I actually added a star for but gee whiz between the start and the finish it was a plodder. I can't believe how long it took me to finish this title as it seemed any excuse to put it down was taken. Seems a bit of a trend in this series with the last three entries being poor we can only hope that future entries pick up a bit. Not one to recommend here check out some of the authors other work in these series.

I read the above review, and really, I couldn't disagree more. THIS is the kind of stuff I'm talking about! Doug managed to take Gold Eagle's stupid word limits, wipe his ass with them, and shove them down their throats. I loved the book from beginning to end. It felt like a complete story, not one that was cut short abruptly, and was a page turner from beginning to end. And the biggest thing was something I noticed in another one of Doug's Stony Man novels-he takes a noble cause (abolishment of WMDs) and have the antagonists bastardize it, so you sympathize with them but at the same time you root for the good guys to triumph. I can always suggest what could have been done more given a more lenient word limit, but within the parameters, Doug masterfully took the pieces and molded them together into a riveting work, appeasing both his publishers and at least this particular reader, and I know I'm not the only one. Well done, and keep up the good work.

I'm a big fan of this author, but not of this book. It was a decent read, good plot and great action as always, there was just far too much "witty" banter between the characters, I found myself really annoyed and distracted by it, and I'm not sure why. And Hawkins came across as a complete buffoon, I don't normally like his character that much, but its like I felt bad for him in this one. This was average at best. Peace.
