The new diplomacy.. Iran is flexing its military muscle and openly daring America to retaliate. A hostile confrontation would spell disaster, while doing nothing means exposing Americans to danger. To demonstrate their reach, Iranian intelligence officers within the U.S. kidnap three prominent Americans. Dispatched to get a handle on the main event, Stony Man discovers a multinational plot that could ignite the next- and last-world war.

Okay, I guess I didn't hate it as much as the previous reviewers, but I found some things to agree with. It certainly had plenty of action and both teams were equally used, which is always good. I also noticed how most of the other team members were hardly ever mentioned. But, I did enjoy Able Team taking out terrorists holding a church and a shopping mall hostage. And Phoenix's foray into Iran, meeting up with some interesting allies and fighting their way across the country to rescue American hostages. My pet peeve with Able's situation was to believe that all these Iranian special forces could have smuggled themselves into the country. Okay....right. The finale was covered way too quickly and was not too satisfying.

Wow what was Jerry thinking when he came up with this title, I haven't rated this title as poorly as the previous reviewer but I totally agree with their listing of failings with this title. Probably the Concorde's which Hal purchased for the Teams turned me off more than anything else but as has been previously reviewed there are many things about this title not to like a couple of stars added from me here as some of the action scenes weren't too bad even if they were character specific. Not a title I would recommend in the series perhaps only for the readers who are doing the series in order. Disappointing read here.

This was a disappointing entry for me. Aside from a good story and action galore the thing I like best about the Stony Mans is the comradery amongst all the characters and within the Teams which was practically nonexistent. There were so many inconsistencies in this story it was not enjoyable:Hal purchasing retro-fitted Concordes to do bomb runs. Hal flying along to Iran just to give out mission details. Price not even in the picture until almost two-thirds of the way in to the story.Grimaldi and Mott sent back to the farm for shut-eye and dropping Hal off leaving the teams with no ready transport. Kurtzman complaining he has to run a license plate number and a trace a truck’s whereabouts via satellite at the same time and no mention of anyone else on his Team.It was all McCarter and Lyons, you really don’t think anyone else is present, barely anyone else ever spoke.Firefights, wow we know SM is good but hardly a mention of a bullet zinging close by in return and we seem to be able to take everyone by surprise with practically no return fire. Here I thought I was treating myself to one of the new SMs; I’m going back to the older ones I haven’t read yet for a while.
