abres rattling. Tensions are at an all-time high when Chinese and American fighter jets engage each other over the island of Taiwan. Intelligence reports indicate a terrorist group- backed by highranking officials in the Chinese government-has established itself on U.S. soil. The terrorists have blocked all communication with the outside word. With the city of Honolulu under siege and the death toll climbing, there's only one man who can take the enemy down. Going in alone, Mack Bolan infiltrates the terror cell. Another Pearl Harbor is at stake. This time China may have started the war, but the Executioner is determined to end it.

So the dog fight on the cover doesn't actually happen which is disappointing. Instead we have the author's third entry in the series and having read later Bolan's of his I can see that this is a template. There is very little story line, wicked Chinese have cut of all communications in Hawaii and if the US doesn't allow them to have Taiwan then everybody will be really, really sorry. And that is it. What could have been a SuperBolan with Tom Clancy style politics and military posturing in the background instead is turned into a John Woo party as Bolan goes from location to location shooting two handed, in slow motion, never missing and never getting injured. It does get tedious. And, of course, the Chinese agents are all very type cast. So on the whole I'd say this one is merely average.

Excellent read here I think maybe this author's best work so far in the series this is a do yourself a favour and read it. This series has recently undergone a page reduction of their titles so it is even more surprising how the author manages to STUFF so much in amazing. It's got it all folks great characters, excellent plot/storyline, fantastic action scenes and everything again seems so polished and smooth (no spelling mistakes or obvious errors in what was written). Absolutely loved it and highly recommend this one to you.

This one was a nicely paced actioner. Lots of guns blazing, fists flying and blades flashing. The only complaints I had were that the Chinese names seemed to blend together after a while, and I kind of forgot who was who every once in a while. Not a big complaint, as the identities became clear enough to follow. That may not be a complaint about the book so much as my American-ness. The other problem was a few times things were just a bit over the top. Bolan is truly a superman in this one, and so are his compatriots. But even these instances were handled well, and so they were easily forgivable. All in all, one of the best Executioners I have read in a long while.

Crazy Chinese use Hawaiian extremists in a plot to disrupt the US. In today's world, this concept might not be too far off. Great action and this one is really for fans of hand-to-hand and knife combat. The characters have great motivation and the villians are realistically evil. Especially their use of terrorist acts. Things blur in a few places (names, locations) but, as said before, the knife fights and action are exhilerating. Great read!

Overall, I liked this one a great deal, largely due to the strength of its story concept. China has masked its plot to take over the island of Hawaii, thus gaining a foothold into America, behind the activities of the New Hawaiian League; an organization interested in Hawaiian independence. There plot involves a complex web-like system of communications jamming which will jumble any possible defense by government authorities to the island's takeover from hostile forces. I felt this was a great, thought-provoking concept, and the author, Phil Elmore, made the most of it, bringing it to life. I thought, perhaps, there were too many villains in this one, which is my only criticism, and they did blur a bit. However, the leader of the Hawaiian rebels, Bando Kapalaua, the huge, hulking man child, was a standout and very interesting. All in all, a worthwhile adventure for the soldier. I give it a 7 only for the jumble of bad-guys that all seemed a bit similar. Other than that one small flaw, very, very readable. –Mykal Banta

This was the first book I ever read of any of the Executioner, Mack Bolan, and Stony Man series, and I really liked it. It was very fast paced, very action-packed, and rather violent. After reading this book in about like a day I huried to get Mack Bolan: The Judas prophecy, because I felt like this was a series I would come to really enjoy, and so far I have. I have already started buying many of the previous ones I could find in stores.
