Mack Bolan's mission is sanctioned by the Oval Office to do whatever is necessary to stage a rescue, but he's up against rival mercenaries dispatched by an American oil conglomerate, as well as a drug lord with a seasoned army and jungle fortress that may prove impenetrable. The Executioner goes in hard from the beginning, an ambassador of blood retribution who doesn't negotiate ... ever.

Loved it an almost perfect title. This is one of the few titles that when you start reading you just slide through to the end without ever having to pause or go back a couple of pages when you suddenly say to yourself "huh". Some very fine characters introduced here with the standouts the Quail Group who are four very highly trained ex Special Forces types and are on the same rescue mission as the Big Guy. Interesting reading indeed when the Big Guy comes up against this group a couple of times and what happens as he actually doesn't want to kill any of them. As has been stated none of the group survive which is a shame as it would have been good to see at least one or two of them back again (suggestion to the publishers/authors do we have to keep killing everyone off ? an occasional recurring character is surely good for the series) anyway some excellent reading on how they are taken out especially their leader. Terrific plot, excellent storyline, marvellous characters introduced, exciting action scenes what more can you want. Do yourself a favour this is good.

A huge surprise of a book. This was one of the better of the Super books from Guenther. The plot has your standard Bolan-taking-out-a-drug-cartel idea mixed with a double kidnapping and solid action all the way through. As usual, Bolan rips through a drug operation, but the author also throws in something concerning the energy crisis, too. And not to mention a mercenary team whos on the same rescue mission as Bolan. The team are more like Able and Phoenix--decent guys, albeit they do what they do for money. Their close calls with Bolan were suspenseful until the time comes when the two forces collide. What will happen? Will Mack be forced to kill them? Anyway, just a solid novel.

A decent enough SuperBolan yarn from the creative mind of Jon Guenther. I especially like the merc team from the Quail Group, too bad they didn't survive the book to be heard from again. I didn't like how the kidnap victims, originally an integral part of the storyline, vanished from the story 2/3's of the way through after bolan rescued them though. I would've prefered Rivas to have gotten away so that Mack could have fought him another day. All in in all a good Bolan yarn, but nothing really too noteworthy stands out in this book though.
