In the covert world of clandestine operations, Stony Man is the President's deniable expendable- a ready-reaction force that officially doesn't exist. For this elite fighting team, there's no glory, just the knowledge that a successful mission means one less threat for the moment. But now a traitor in America's military has made a deal that could alter the balance of power in the West.... It's the next step in silent, invisible warfare and now the Ramrod Intercept technology has fallen into the hands of America's most virulent enemies. The head of a black ops U.S. military facility has made a deal with an exiled Sudanese general, a monster willing to share the weapon's destructive capabilities with an army of terrorists in exchange for shock troops on his blood march to take Khartoum. Stony Man's grim three-way mission: find the traitor, stop a devastating coup and retrieve America's secret weapon.

Pleasant surprise here for me after the last two shockers by this author as this is a very enjoyable title to read in this series. Lots of good characters introduced loved the Lake character especially and the CIA guy Taylor was very good as well. Mack is included in this title which is against the norm for this series since maybe the last ten or fifteen titles but it was some fine reading of the big guy doing his stuff as only he can do it. In this title the author nails both Teams beautifully I thought the characters were perfect and the subplots they follow are very well written, good action scenes and well not TOO OVER the slaughter scale until the end where it is teetering. Good read here well worth your while.

I read this entry about four months ago and noticed that I did not review it. In this entry, Stony Man is pursuing stolen technology code-named the Ramrod Intercept. Very cool name for a title. A tale of two books. Able Team chases down a psychopath military officer across the Southwest. The traitor is so crazy-go-nuts, his witticisms and lines act as comic relief. His ending is the finale of the book. However, Phoenix Force and Bolan’s campaigns I don’t remember all that well. I remember that the first Phoenix Force firefight was pretty good and the last Bolan fight scene, other than that, I can honestly say that the rest of book was forgettable. So to recap: cool title, a stand-out Able Team episode, but a pair of disposable Phoenix Force/Executioner missions in Africa. I would rate the Able Team mission separately a 8/10.

A nice, entertaining book from Schmidt. The Able scenes were very intense, and it was great seeing them get a finale scene, even though their villain was sort of goofy with his over-the-top personality. Phoenix's arc of the story was also very solid, and like in a few previous Schmidt books, it was cool to see the Spectre wreak havoc. Mack could have been left out of this one, as his part in the story was not that big. But, better writing from Schmidt all the way around.

Another Stony Man page turner. Dan Schmidt did a number with this one, form begining to end the action and well thought out story lie was present. I for one favor a good Stony Man that showcases AT and PF with some Mack Bolan strewn throughout and if I had one minor complaint... and it is very minor, It seemed to me as more of a Super Bolan that also featured AT and PF. That being said... when you read a book and can actually lothe the foil, the enemy, the bad guy you gotta love that feeling. The whole book paints some beautiful imagery. One Big Thumbs Up!
