Puppet Soldiers

The CIA knows that the enemy has been secretly operating in neutral Cambodia since the beginning of the war. But now Cambodian military leaders are being elevated to positions of power as a reward for cooperation in constructing NVA sanctuary bases. If this goes unchecked, eventually Hanoi will swing Cambodia into the North Vietnamese camp. U.S. Army Special Forces Captain Mack Gerber is called on to lead a sniper squad across the border to assassinate key Cambodian officers, thus thwarting the enemy's objective. But covert assassinations in Cambodia don't sit well with Gerber. Besides, the mission seems too cut-and-dried- and that's what bothers Gerber. Something bigger is up. He knows the CIA will sell their own mothers if the job demands it. And his gut tells him that he and his men are about to become sitting ducks.
