A year in the jungles of Vietnam brings its own reprieve R and R. The men of U.S. Army Special Forces Camp A-555 are excited at the prospect of time away from that hellish conflict. But, although they don't know it, the squad is marked for death in Hong Kong. And rest and relaxation takes on new meaning as vicious attacks against the American team bring the jungle war to the city. An implacable enemy stalks the Special Forces unit in Hong Kong and lures the men into his lair with a tantalizing bait a beautiful American woman left under their protection.

Once again, a good book, now the seventh in the series, the quality is maintained at a high level. The first half of the story takes place in the jungles near the camp, where another of Gerber's team loses his life. Thus sparks a mission to track down the Chinese officer at all costs. I liked Fetterman's exploration of the tunnels they find under the village, introducing the squad to a sample of the vast tunnel systems underground all over the country. Midway through this story it shifts gears completely. Now Gerber and his team are on leave to Hong Kong, leaving the jungle behind for the urban jungle. A nice change of pace in the series, and we get to see the team work in a new environment. Their arch-nemesis has tracked them down there and the hunt for the crafty villain is on. Good scenes of the team working together in the city to finish the mission. As usual, the reading is compelling and kept me turning the pages, good stuff.
