For an American newspaper correspondent in Vietnam, it's the story of a lifetime. And with the CIA adopting a "we don't know you" attitude, the squad leader finds himself fighting the Army, the press and time to save his men from being court-martialed for doing the job they were trained to do.

The fifth book in the series and the first published by Gold Eagle continues where the last book left off. Fetterman is determined to go after the Chinese officer, and the slaughter of a patrol by the VC gives him the opportunity he needs. After a suspenseful and action packed first half of the story with Fetterman's squad tracking down and taking out the VC, things turn bad for him upon return from the mission. There is much intrigue going on in this title, and the second half deals with the court system when Fetterman is put on trial for going into a neutral country, that being Cambodia, during the mission. Gerber must then come up with some way of getting his men out of the sticky situation. Terrific writing here from cover to cover, a good mix of action and plot, the way Gerber and his team dealt with the situation was great reading, and everything wrapped up by the end. Recommended series from me, I plan on reading many more of these books.
