Cade and his cyborg partner Janek- as cool and orderly as Cade is hell-bent for leather- are assigned to nail Loren Brak, a renegade drug dealer heading west to start his own empire. Brak and his shock troops make a formidable enemy, as does the assassin hired by shadowy New York financiers to reclaim the booty stolen from them by Brak. Surrounded on all sides by hostile forces, the justice marshals follow the bloody and violent trail cross-country to the electronic wonderland of Los Angeles - and enter the kill zone... guns loaded, targets in sight.

Another very good read with this title sadly the last in the published series. This time around a drug lord has decided he no longer wishes to have partners and reckons he can run the business himself maximizing the profits into his pocket alone and starts to weed out said partners and connections setting up pipelines for himself. At one of these locations where he is taking out his guys three undercover Justice Department cops are brutally slain and enter TJ Cade and his partner Janek. As with the two previous titles in the series non stop action scenes follow as Cade and his partner follow the trail attempting to capture the Drug Lord and taking down his legion of mercs, droids and helicopters set in their way. If you read the three of these titles in the series you will find yourself drawing closer to Janek the cyborg sidekick of Cade well I did anyway and should enjoy this one from start to finish. Add in a good epilogue and the story is tied off nicely at the end. Shame there were no more released.

The last volume of the Cade series has more of the fast paced action found in the first two books. New York City is again the starting point, and after a round of adventure there, Cade and his partner Janek are off to Kansas in pursuit of Brak, the main villain. Here they meet mutants, ride horses, and storm another bad guy's business. The last third of the book takes place in the future setting of L.A. The intensity picks up as the chase continues, and an assassin named Ryker joins the action, causing more problems for Cade. I enjoyed all three of these Cade novels and Firestreak leaves off with a wide open opportunity for further adventures. Hopefully someday there will be more. Cade rocks!!!
